9900 GT, or GTX in july.. at least according to theinq.

I'm looking forward to Left 4 Dead, but that will already run well on current cards

oh and APB if its any good :)

and the new alien game out later this year colonial marines, looks good to me

True - forgot about that one. (the alien game).

People keep saying that there isn't many games coming out - but there are some really nice games being released. Even the new WOW expansion is being released soon. (hardly needs extra GPU power). I suppose that will do very well too.
 
Nvidia have kind of shot themselves in the foot by releasing 8 series cards under the 9 series numbering. Means they are finding it difficult to shift the 1.5+ million 8600GTs they still have in stock.

Same with the 8800 GS, got absolutely loads of those still, so they've told all their partners they can put them out as 9600 GSO's to get rid of them, so they've begun restickering the coolers with the 9600 GSO naming, and putting them in new boxes.

People banging on about how joe public will get confused with the numbering system.. hmm.. anyone actually met anyone that knows damn all about graphics cards spending the best part of 400 quid on one? Possibly more? No. They go and buy whatever has the shiniest box at the cheapest price in the shop and don't give a rats behind what's actually inside. I'd be willing to bet that the only people that are going to buy these 9900s or whatever they are called are going to be people like us on boards like this that actually know wtf they are buying.
 
Is there any point in loadsamoney? :confused:He talks a lot but fails to understand his own logic and worse of all think's that he is some kind of expert and that his opinion's merit some sort of respect by other fellow posters.

It makes me cringe that other people defend him when he clearly has zero knowledge of comp tech. I'm pretty new these forums and already see that are few 'experts' here. Just wish the obvious ones that are would speak up more. This forum might be ok then.

I don't think im an expert as im not, i do have some knowledge though, obviously not as much as most people on here, but who cares, everyone has different levels.

Is there any point in YOU?. One of your first posts you called a respected forum member a liar about a 9800GTX. If this is what you are going to bring to the forums then I'd rather read Loadsamoney tell me why the GTS 512bit is the same card as the 9800GTX all day long.

I think you're a bit cheeky with no respect.

Get off Loadsa's back. He's a good guy and knows a lot more than you think. To say he's clueless is a silly and also very disrespectful. I don't know how you can waltz in here and call someone out. You are of no importance and seem to be a bad addition to these great forums. This forum will be a lot better when you close that gap in your face, not when certain people start or stop posting.

his number of posts is of no concern of yours. if he reads a forum and thats what he sees then who are you to tell him otherwise. loads of money has been doing a great job with finding the latest drivers so credit to him for that, but he is also one of the reasons people are staying away from the graphics forum.

its highly ironic that you attack a poster because of his (lack of) postcount when you are questioning the validity of his post. hint: you've made the least contribution of all of us. 'you are of no importance' listen to yourself lol. you are of no importance to me either so if you think he shouldnt be in here, then why on earth are you still here?

people like a nice civilized discussion but with certain people, it just cant be done. are you one of those people, dismissing other members because of their postcount? how pathetic. this whole 'respect people with higher postcounts' ideal is complete codswhallop. id expect the same level of understanding and consideration whether id just joined or was an old-timer on the forums. would you 'respect' this post more if i had my original 14k posts or so? i bet you would.

That was a very poor post.

I admit, Loadsa can be a little annoying with the repeating, but he knows more than enough to say things about PC's.

Besides, if you know so much, then you can simply offer constructive decent counter arguments against his points can't you ?
