Will probably wait until it is bundled with the next gen gfx cards.
Got 3DMark06 with my X2 which was a ncie surprise, though havent used any of the extra features that having a full version has.
Got x3 3Dmark06 with my 3 Toxic`s.

Paid a tenner for the advanced version, and it can't even complete the system scan.

Having read all the comments about futuremark being 'greedy' for wanting to charge for the software, I was a bit surprised to open my email to find a download link and registration code to a 'free' copy of 3dmarkvantage Advanced.
The email said this was because I'd purchased 3dmark06 in the last 30 days, which of course I had. They didn't have to do that, so I say fair play to them!

I'm guessing other people had complained. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.
Mmm, maybe? But then maybe they aren't quite as grabbing as some people think?
Anyway, I hadn't, and am not, complaining!
Nobody with sense is calling futuremark money grabbing. Its there product, they can charge what they want.
Well, my thoughts exactly, but there seemed to be a lot of complaints earlier in the thread that they were charging a modest amount for it after the first run.
I was just putting a different view, that's all.
Just ran it, wow that first test looked hilariously bad. The soldiers camo looked like it was off a 5 year olds halloween costume, also the character animation was pretty shoddy. Smirked somewhat at the sapphire branded boat. Second test was pretty good with the outerspace theme. Cpu tests looked like turd.

Gotta admit, the first test didn't have anything in it that we hadn't seen before and niether did the second. Although the second was quite entertaining to watch.
Yep, vantage is one massive fail, noway are those GFX worth such crappy framerates, its all a scam.
Also, to bring just two GFX tests to the table shows what a real pathetic release it is this time round, and they have a cheek to charge you for this tiny package.

Also for the people complaining about graphics, it's a benchmark. Run it, move on and get on with your life.
I could almost understand the complaints if it was a popular game. That said I won't be running this or installing Vista. My 3D Mark days are over
