No Rooney/Vidic on the bench either. Anderson on the bench, absolutely tosh.

Barca unchanged bar Puyol/Marquez
 
at least barca arnt starting with henry. had he played last week, im sure they would have scored. he looked fit enough as well
nice to see Welbeck on the bench but its a big ask for him to come into this type of game and do anything. it might have helped him to get 10 minutes versus roma but i guess giving neville a run out in midfield was the funnier option ;)

Can't see anything other than Ronaldo playing upfront with Tevez and us going 4-4-2. Neither Park or Nani will play in the middle. Would much rather have seen Giggs or Anderson instead of Park. I understood his selection last week, but not today.
 
I don't see why Rijkaard has Deco in ahead of Henry or Bojan, it's not like it's less risky because Deco doesn't even defend, he's just as offensive (in more ways than one ;) ) as the other two.

I'd have played Bojan, he's been better than both Deco and Henry this season, and hasn't suffered from stage fright.
 
Well,it was good whilst it lasted.

Playing Park ahead of Anderson is an utter disgrace.

Anderson is:
Faster
Stronger
Quicker
Better Passing
Better Tackling
Left Footed
More Creative
More Dynamic

In fact, not one area of Park's game is as good as Anderson's...
 
I can't see where the goals are coming from tonight- Rooney out is a massive blow, let's just hope he's back for the weekend. Very concerned, our only hope is to keep the ball and take our chances, I feel set pieces will be very important tonight.

We have one player who can score off corners on the pitch tonight, Ronaldo. The other 2 in our squad are Vidic and Pique.
They'll double up on Ronaldo from set-pieces and we're screwed.

I expect another tactically clueless European game of VDS knocking the ball into the corners (out for throw ins) towards Park in the air (because he's tall...) and for us to keep chipping the ball up instead of benefitting all our front players by keeping it on the floor.

I've just commented on that. We won't. It will be kept in the air where we are useless. It would be understandable if the opposition was doing it, but it's the same players (VDS, Ferdinand, Scholes, Giggs and Rooney), thankfully 2 of them aren't playing (though I'd rather Rooney was).
 
im not sure why hargreves is on the right. he does the job well but well enough to lose him as an option for the midfield? does he not rate pique at all?
 
Why are we playing park?

Its going to be 4-5-1, drop park, nani and ronaldo on the wings, anderson pushing forward.

Ah well, as has been said, disappointing to be going out because your manager cant pick a side.
 
Well the arse is twitching like a rabbits nose at present. Not been this nervous for a long time. Given the injuries we have the only question mark I would have is the inclusion of Park ahead of Anderson. However Anderson in would have meant Scholes or Carrick to drop out to make a 4-4-2 everyone seems to want
