Champions League Semi Final *Spoilers* 29/30 April

Well done Chelsea we deserved to go through to the final but it just wasnt to be. come on chelsea beat the man **** united

A shuffled Utd team went to Stamford Bridge and should've come away with a draw so at full strength for the final game of the season I really fancy our chances, we're a far better side than Chelsea and would much rather face them in a one-off tie than a two legged match. Should we have no injuries leading into the match it's going to be interesting what Fergie considers his first XI- can see Scholes, Carrick, Hargreaves in midfield with Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs up front. However, there's the temptation to start Hargreaves at right back to deal with Joe Cole and pin him back a bit which might give Anderson a start who I thought was outstanding at the weekend. It's going to be a long, nervous wait to the final!

Didn't think anyone would want Giggs playing in the final. He's got the experience but no longer has the touch, pace or ability to play at the top level.

Not gonna happen :) chelsea will beat you 2 nil if we also have no players out i think we have a stronger team in general!

It would be a brave call for him to not start, I'd rather see Nani or Park up top myself.

Nonsense, I'd take Drogba, Essien and Joe Cole off your hands but other than that we're better in every area.

i'd take cech as his distribution is less terrible than vds though not as keen as i'd have been 2 years ago. not fussed over joe cole that much though he can be great. snap their hands off for essien though.

I'm glad that the ginger pig has the chance to play in the final.
I've been neutral as I don't support any of the teams, just glad that more English teams get to the latter stages.:D
Out of the 2 teams in the final though, I think Utd have the players in Ronaldo, etc to sneak the game.

hopefully will be a good final:D

Park's workrate would be important. Think I'd have a 4-5-1 with Ronaldo playing a completely free role and Rooney up front (if fit?)

I think Rooney's fit for the weekend, so he should certainly be fit (unless you mean any potential injuries between now then).

rooney should be fit for this weekend hopefully, the way fergie was talking it seemed to be just bruising. we've got a selection headache definitely. i think the important thing is to keep rooney up top and not force him to play on the left, Nani is more talented than Park but is still inconsistent. I'd probably take parks workrate at the moment. Tevez has scored some vital goals for us this season and i'd love to see him included but then i'd love to see Anderson start but i havea feeling he'll be coming on for the last half hour instead.

No, I just remembered him coming off and hadn't seen anything since. If he's fit for the weekend he should be fresh for the final.

It is vital that Rooney and Ronaldo are fit and fresh for it, cos without them I think Chelsea will do them.

You know, I wonder what the rest of Europe thinks about the premiership? Perhaps they view the entire league with the same disdain that EPL clubs seem to view Chelsea? (ie 'moneybags').

The premiership has averaged over 60% of the teams in the final, for the past 4 years (5 of 8), and 55% of the teams in the semis (9 of 16). Quite incredible really, when you consider that this represents only 4 teams...

They were all talking of the referee putting the whistle to his lips for the Hyypia 'penalty', am I the only one who's first reaction was that he was going to book Hyypia for diving?
