Champions League Semi Final *Spoilers* 29/30 April

Was a good game, a right roller coaster of emotion. Haven't bothered watching the replays of the Hyypia penalty claim, as at the end of the day, what's the point? (PS i'm a LFC fan) it wasn't given so there's no point even going there.

Can't believe i'm going to say this, and i'm glad my best mate emigrated to Aus last year as he would never let me live it down, but i'm going to be cheering Man U on in the final. Oh god, i feel dirty just saying it.........

Care to elaborate? Disregard Chelsea fluke goal in the first leg and I honestly think they have looked stronger over the two matches.

Chelsea were very good defensively and Cech has been superb, Chelsea were far from the stronger in midfield or upfront at Anfield or the second half last night.
Reina had nothing to do in the first game, I still think Liverpool were robbed by Drogba's time wasting in the first game, his Jackyl and Hyde performances must be so frustrating for Chelsea fans.

Which Drogba is going to turn up for the final?

Great game, just about regained my voice after last night. Couple of decisions that didn't go our way unfortunately, but these things happen. Risse's own goal was the difference at the end of it all, dont think Chelsea did anything to prove they deserved to go through.

Don't know who I'll be supporting in the final. As much as I hate Man Utd, they are the much better team and actually deserve to win with some of the football they can play. On the other hand Chelsea are the lesser of the two evils.

Chelsea the lesser of 2 evils?!!! Man U didn't buy the league like chelsea nor do they have a manager that resembles Baron Greenback.
I have a few more reasons but I'm pretending to right notes at work right now so I'll go into more detail when I'm back.

Not sure which is more "deserving" from a football point of view - a personal loss (not to mention a heroic performance last night in spite of the tragic loss), or a memorial to a team that died exactly 50 years ago coming back from a European fixture (I know there where survivors, but essence of the team died that horrendous night)

Both teams have something "extra" to play for - I honestly dont know which is more important, the only difference (maybe minor maybe not) is that Utd have that ingrained in the club as it was significant part of their History, Lampard 's are alone in their loss as it where (however much team mates support him)

Chelsea fans, Im really not trying to be biased - I meant this post as a fair appraisal of the situation due to a comment above about the personal loss being deserving of winning the final

It may be a while before those clubs can reach our top 4's level consistenly. There's so much money in our league compared with the others and that's not going to change in a while.

English clubs have far more determination and the battling spirit than the Italians and Spanish and the crowds are more pasionate almost like an extra player. Thats something money can't buy (apart from the free flags at Chelsea).
Techinally Barcelona are have been the best team for several years now.

I also think the Europeans were the losers when our clubs were banned from Europe for 5/6 years (a ban which I still find disgraceful as Italian clubs still have terrible crowd/policing problems and get away with murder)
It was quite a slow comeback for English clubs but we are now at our peak and the rest of Europe will have to get used to it.

A team doesn't deserve to win anything based on who's died previously. The team that wins it will be the team that scores more goals on the night, simple :)

Understand where you're coming from, but as a Scouser, Man Utd are public enemy no. 1. But yes, even if Chelsea do manage to win, we all know they didn't get there on merit and hard work....;)

I want Chelsea to win, as it keeps UTD on the same level as Nottingham Forest in europe :p

Man Utd don't exactly have a budget team though!

I was thinking about that, and whilst Man utd are no where near us when it comes to Europe, I'd like to keep it that way. But do you really want Chelsea winning and thinking all of a sudden they have 'history' in Europe?

I want to see Chelsea take the finals, I think from what I have seen of them the last few games they have really turned up the tempo. Ok I didnt see last nights game but I always had this impression that Chelsea play boring football but every now and again you see some of the class that squad has, I think the biggest issue with them are the egos in the squad. But going into something like the CL Finals I believe they will turn on the pressure and after the UTD v Chelsea game last weekend you know this is going to be good ;)

Chelsea have been pretty unconvincing in Europe until last night - so Im not really sure how any of that makes sense

Remember they were pretty lucky to get the away goal last week, if they hadnt in the last 5 seconds they would now be out of Europe

(they have also conceeded twice as many goals as Utd in this years CL - albeit while scoring the same amount)

Last night was monumental from the sounds of it, and the blues probably deserve it (especially after the ghost goal a few years ago) but last night was their best match in Europe for quite some time

He's spent several hundred million of his own personal cash on the club, and has said many times that winning the CL is his dream for the club.

I can't fathom a reason, short of some major emergency, why he wouldn't be there

Because he didnt turn up to the Man United game, or the semi final and hasnt shown any interest in the club for some time now? Not to mention the fact he isnt a very popular man there as mentioned above.

Scoring 3 goals and winning the game 3-2 and 4-3 on aggregate. That's how Chelsea deserved it.
