Boris Johnson is Mayor of London

Whether it's an act or not, he gives the impression he couldn't run a bath unaided. Thats not a trait I generally find inspiring in an elected official...

I have a feeling Boris is going to find himself out of his depth. At least Ken gave the impression that he knew what he was doing.

No offence to you Spie, but you don't live in London and I therefore find it hard to see how you can say 'good riddance' without having seen some of the changes he has made for the better.

For a start the public transport system is far better than it was before he took office, simple things like buses actually turning up. The congestion charge, whilst unpopular, has improved transport on the streets during the day and I for one am glad there are no pigeons in Trafalgar square.

Yes I agree that Ken has become stale in recent years and has lost his way with trips to questionable places, but to say good ridance is a touch harsh. Had London continued with no mayor I believe we would be significantly worse off than we are now (and despite Kens loss you would find few londoners willing to disagree on that point).

He will be terrible on TV.

No one will take him seriously.

Well, I think he'll be great on tv in terms of being highly watchable, lol. As for being on tv as the Mayor of London...

As for no one taking him seriously: I've watched some of the televised debates that have been held so far, and it worries me how much laughter Boris draws from the audiences in his inept responses. It literally is like 'Ahahaha, good old Boris, classic'. This is not what I want as my Mayor.

Exactly:)

Any one who tackles Germans in a game of football, with their head, deserves some kind of power.

Good on him I say. Another nail in Labours overdue coffin.

Boris has an odd sense of humour and applies it in some places where he should not but he has a quality lacking in most people who take public office. He has character, he is not just a character but has character in spades there is a huge difference. That quality along with the fact that he is not the idiot he seems on first appearance will if he takes this position as he should, carry him through and leave people thinking, where was he hiding this other person. The truth is he never hides who he is its just he gets judged without people taking a closer look beyond the first impression the get from him.

I think most people don't care what he may have said, they just want that muppet Livingstone out and a fresh face in charge. Makes a change to have someone politically incorrect in office. In fact, I think it's brilliant.

Eh? So it doesn't matter that this bloke is a **** head? A complete laughing stock who doesn't have a clue about what he's doing? Did you see him dodging questions and babbling on Question time? How much time have you spent in London in the last year? It may be funny, but it certainly isn't 'Brilliant'!

It's a sad desperate state for Britan to get in, to simply vote in plebs because we don't like the current rep. I hope to god the Tory's will see what an advantage they now have, and don't let this **** **** up London. Still, he's off the drink now anyway.....

I'm genuinely terrified, what exactly are people thinking? I'm sure he's very funny but as a Mayor he's going to make some terrible decisions. Very worrying for London and in fact the rest of the country too.

It was time for Ken to go, its unhealthy to have the same person in power for so long.

But.. well lets face it, we didn't have much of a choice to choose from did we, hence why I didn't even bother voting. I could see tonight for the first time Borris made use of his assistants for that speech, his assistants are gonna take him by the hand from tonight, its like a child taking the teachers place in a classroom. The guy clearly does not know what he is doing, i've lost count how many times he has failed to get to any point when asked about a matter, be it on radio or TV.. he just waffles on! Just like when in a job interview and you're asked a question that you don't know and end up blagging it.

Wouldn't it be fun to take away his assistants and leave him in charge. Imagine what would happen....

Tip: Parties in future please (for christ sake and London's sake) offer some decent candidates

I agree much the same gripes people have about the current labour party after being in so long I remember the same being said of the tories after 3 terms. Basically people will vote for anyone to try to change things.

It never does though, the same scandals, the same creaming of tax payers money and the same MP's lining their pockets in various ways.

They just invent new and differing ways of making sure in the long run they take 60% of your wages. Different parties same old ****.
