Am I the only person who doesn't like football in this country?!

Most people in this thread are the ones that turn up in pubs during big England games and annoy the **** out of everyone

"Hang on, why isnt David Beckham playing in a Man Utd shirt" types

22 guys kicking the remains of a pigs bum around a field... hmm who do a pay extortionate fees too; to get a ticket LOL

Sorry, another Hate vote here, just don't get it, and as has been said, they pay these "players" way too much for all they do!

I don't like football.

Playing with a few mates after a drink or two can be fun, but watching it is the most boring thing ever. Yay, lets watch some guys kick a ball around and act like their half dead when they get slightly touched =\

Football is the savior for this very boring country. I'm not a slave to it and I can easily decide not to watch it, but I just enjoy it too much.

The tactics, the skill, manager decisions, the fan debates, WINNING. Its brilliant and its the greatest sport to watch and follow by far.

If we didn't have football in this country, life would be much more boring.

I like football, but i am not fanatical about it, I appreciate the skill that it takes to be a top flight footballer and the training it takes. However I hate the culture that goes around it, especially comes European and World cups, i can't stand all the singing and drinking.

Hello there :)

I can honestly say i hate football :p, i have tried over many years to get into but i realy cant:eek:

Once i see those drama queens running up and down the pitch after the ball i just shut down i think :D

And when they score a goal and try to grad each other it makes me laugh, the people in the stands go bannanas and i cant for the life of me work out why :o

Oh well back to wrestling for me :D

Sure football can be boring. Try watching a meaningless, goalless, midweek Scottish Premier League game in a half empty stadium with no atmosphere - until you have you don't truly understand the meaning of tedium.

But fortunately football isn't just about watching or participating in the actual playing of the game. It's also about being part of a group of like minded fans and being against the other lot. I suppose it's really about tribalism.

I don't know what it is - maybe it just just unimaginative conversational skills or something - but all everyone seems to talk about is football. I was sitting on the train and could not help but hear the dull droning on about football and team scores/transfers etc etc.

Is it just me? I just find football totally non-stimulating and over hyped by the masses, propagated by tabloid culture to boot.

Maybe I have just pocked the hornets nest here ;)
im with you on that one,i hate football with a passion and cant stand ppl going on about it all the time....but i do follow england when they play in the world cup (so about 3 game's really )

I just don't like most football fans. When you see a player taking a throw in, the opposing fans behind him are just hurling abuse at him and he can't do a thing about it. If they did that in the street they'd get battered. Worst of all its always adults doing it and the kids see them and start copying meaning the same dreg end type of person is going to continue rearing their ugly head. Its that side of things that I really hate.

The game itself though, can't get enough of it.
I'd agree with this.

Some 'fans' are a dreadful example to their kids and to other people in general, hurling abuse and making obscene gestures at the players. It's also amazing how quickly people's affections change based on who players play for - one minute player X is a **** and as soon as he signs for their team he's the best thing since sliced bread.

For the game itself though I absolutely love it. Love playing it, love watching it (IRL, not so bothered about on the TV - dependant on who's playing), love playing both FM and pro evo. I'm also into the stats and transfer gossip in a big way and find the tactics etc very interesting. :)

The missus on the otherhand detests football :(

Come on the Grecians!!

p.s I've always maintained that I'll start watching football if they introduce multi-ball, jetpacks, balls that randomly change shape every few minutes, multi-team matches, hidden trapdoors, snipers, and big pinball flippers on the goals.

Ditch football in favour of international televised Speedball.. that'd get my vote, footballers would actually be worth their wages if there was the risk of death or maiming :D

I don't hate football itself, i have no feelings for it other than thinking that as a game it's almost as pointless as golf, but i do hate what it does.

Football has ensured that the voice of the UK overseas is an overweight balding skinhead wearing his national colours (the Union JJB Flag), headbutting a local whilst vomiting Stella over the bar
