....SUCKS SO HARD!!!!

It's released on the 12th in europe, don't waste your money. There's 1 almost half-decent track, #7 "Gangster", and is the only one that could be considered remotely DnB, but it's still quite rockbandish like the rest of the album, and just repeats an 8 second loop for 5 minutes.

Pendulum definitely peaked with Voodoo People, Hold Your Colour was friggin sweet, I'm just laughing at how this album is so rubbish! I'm just thinking about the guys recording this, at what point did they say "Oh yeah, this is banging stuff!" The tracks don't even have an ending, they just loop forever, and fade out after 5-7 minutes...

Seriously, don't waste your money on such tosh, Pendulum have lost all my respect putting their name to such dross, the fud ruckers! ;)

I fail to see why you are surprised. It was always going to be rubbish. "Peaking" with Voodoo People says it all really...seeing as it wasn't even their own song!

Hold your colour got me into DnB, then heard about them going for a more rock band type sound and cried inside....... Silly muppets.

But people will still buy itand call it DnB, that's the annoying thing !

This is just your opinion, I actually really like the new album; And it's not a DnB album, just like Pendulum aren't a DnB act :) Its a mixture of Rock / Electronica / DnB

The album is also a grower, I've listened to it through 3-4 times now and i like it the more I hear it.

Also, track 7 is 'Mutiny' and there isn't a single on the album called 'Gangster'...

does this album not have 'Propaine nightmares' and there recent singles on??

Yeah, it does, track listing:

1. "Showdown" – 5:27
2. "Different" – 5:51
3. "Propane Nightmares" – 5:13
4. "Visions" – 5:36
5. "Midnight Runner" – 6:55
6. "The Other Side" – 5:15
7. "Mutiny" – 5:09
8. "9000 Miles" – 6:26
9. "Granite" – 4:41
10. "The Tempest" – 7:27

Granite, Showdown, Propane Nightmares and Mutiny are absolute tunes

Quotes like this amuse me too 'lost all respect' because they decide to go in a different direction?

And please don't just accuse me of being a pendulum fanboy.. Yeah I like pendulum, but at the end of the day they are *just* another band, they've produce a couple of good albums (in silico included) and I just think reactions such as yours are pathetic because they've done something you personally don't like

Personally i can't find a track on the album i don't like.

Ok maybe that's a lie, showdown is a good track but wow it's just a regurgitated propane nightmares drum beat (almost identical tempo, same groove) - but that's me being picky.

It's a very very good album, blurring the edges of 'basic' genres such as Rock/DnB in both composition and recording techniques/sound.

Hold your colour was also a brilliant album, because it was the borderline of drum n bass that everyone would stop at, and it hit that sweet spot. They still used many repeating loops and sequences in that album, just like their new.

The vocals are much better on the new album, using influence from Daft Punk with vocoders and pitch shifting. There's also a bit of a muse influence floating about, and in 'Mutiny' there's an arctic monkeys influence at 3minutes if you've heard the riff :)

They're doing something unique, and i for one, think it's brilliant stuff.

totally agree.

i'll be buying it still :)

Pendulum peaked with The Vault (check it out if you haven't heard it).

As for their newer tunes, I do actually like Granite and Propane as tunes, but they're lousy DnB. Check out the VIP remix of Propane for proof that Pendulum can still make dnb. The Breakfastaz remix of Granite is also worth a listen.

@Elitejungalist: Sadly, London Elektricity disbanded a year ago. I do still class their Power Ballads album launch at Scala as one of my best nights out ever :D

Showdown is a good track!?

It's a loop of 22 seconds, repeated for over 5 minutes then fade out at the end, just like every other track on this godawful album.

You listen to any track on hold your colour, and compare it to any track on In Silico and you'll see what I mean.

How can you like Showdown? It does my swede in after 2 minutes, and that fud rucking symbol never stops!!

Another album using EXACTLY the same drum samples they have used in all their other albums. Cheap cubase copy+paste jobs with little or no emotion. Waste of money and this is the reason why we should pirate music, so artists arent allowed to release crap like this.

After hearing the vault and maschinist is it, their sound has completly changed.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Didn't know L.E had broke up, thats a shame.

There are a lot of good releases coming from the Hospital Label.

I was wondering :p

I agree on it being a grower, its a good album, its just not what people expected thats all.

LE's new album is out this year...

I haven't heard Pendulum's new album but I think the amount of elitism in the DnB 'community' is sad. Who cares what genre of music their latest album is???

London Elektricity are supposedly playing at the Nottingham Uni summer party.

I prefer pendulum's older stuff personally, its all about vault and tarantula.
