Haven't played since release, this seems a mighty odd direction to keep the player base, it's certainly...interesting.

Hmm it must be fake, any game where it doesnt matter whether youre pointing at the enemy cant really have vehicular combat. Otherwise youre just flying around in prximity mashing the shoot button which would be stupid.

Aye looks side quest to me, with the dwarf standing there, and the mount being spawn already.

It looked as though the propellers damaged them, not buy firing missiles behind you.

Let's no forget it's World of Warcraft, in case some of you haven't played any of the original RTS games, there were vehicles!

All this seems to be is combat in 3 dimensions, rather than 2.

looks ok to me, natural progression of the combat into updated flight models.
I stopped playing wow ages ago, but would seem logical to me, as flying about was a drag mostly.
