MM6 May 11th 2008

I should be coming along, car will be dirty though, not had chance and gotta be home in good time cause other half's working and the dogs can't be left all day sadly.

Better hope they are finished, heavens opened here, full on thunderstorms, 25mm of rain in just a couple of hours expected!

Good meet, some nice cars and decent people also some amazing driving lol.

Makes me want my Corsa gone lol.

I had a great time, as Tupac says, some really nice cars and very nice people. :)

Thanks for the passenger ride in the Civic TypeR. :)

Weather here is still great, i wish it would turn as im cooking here.

LOL I've got a sunburnt neck.

I just love that CTR EK9 what Tim has <3

Be good to see some pictures at the service station soon.

Cheeers everyone for turning up was a good meet.

I am (as are others) well happy with the new pub, for various reasons. So think that will stay for next time.

As said at the meet mm7 will be around early sept, before the weather turns crappy.

Looking forward to some pictures and may post a little summary story of the day if anyone is interested. :)

Well, what a weekend.

After partying hard last night and getting some 5 hours sleep, I was ready to rock and roll.

Another fantastic meet along with superb weather. Couldn't have asked for a better day. Had some fun in both mine and others cars (many thanks to Daz, Tim and Si for the passenger rides).

Love the Civic Tim, what a mental car and Daz... seriously impressed by the 200sx!

Got back to the pub after taking Tim out for a blast to be greeted by smoke pouring out from my wheels... oops, guess I better upgrade my brakes.

Car performed really well despite getting absolutely battered, didn't blow any hoses either which was a plus. Intercooler seemed to do its job well, but also seems to be reducing airflow over the radiator as the temp gauge did get a bit on the hot side... no HGF here though :p

So yeah, all in all, a superb meet. Really enjoyed today and was great to meet a few new faces. Hopefully the next meet will be just as good.

I'm Interested :)

Ok here goes. :)

The day starts for me bright and early 9-30, I get up at around 10-30 though and realise I need some cash a quick car clean and some fuel, as well as this I need to get 10 miles away in 30 mins. Not to worry I think everyone is usually little late so I will be ok.

I do all my jobs and get to the meeting point at 11-15ish to be greeted to 15 people going "ohhh here he is" and "he organises this and is late", my head is bowed in shame. Every one says hi and peole get chatting with some under bonnet action (oh err). I then list out the directions which are simple "j22 at the bottom of the slip road turn left" I think no one could get lost, I was wrong (more of that later).

We set off and I am stuck at the back setting off a couple mins behind everyone else, not to worry I know where I am going I will be ok. Quick blast up the motorway and I catch up to some of the slackers I then find a nice gap to pull in with plenty of time before the juntion. :p

We then drive down the nice twisty road to the pub where we all arive, one of the bikers is asked not to park his bike on the public highway as a house is expecting guests, I think he replied something along the lines of NO.:p
Quck hedcount in the carpark makes us realise we ae missing one person where has the BMW bike gone?

We wait around for 5 mins then decide to go inside to get the table sorted, It is a nice pub full of charecter with nice pastel coloured walls and a few tesco finest bar staf. :o

We all want to pay seperate and are given a number, between 1-16, some peole forgot this within ten mins much to the delight of the staff, we then move on to some freindly banter and stories (mainly rover HGF and phate most silent dump valve). We the order our food mrsix decides he wants

"vegetarian funghi pizza without the ham" :D

This has us in stiches and I told him that this will go on the forum, and it has. During this time our missing member turns up, he had to phone his dad to find out where we were as he had forgotten my instructions.:p

So we eat, pay and leave and head to the second pub.......

We arrive at the second pub and all park in the most crowded stupid car park ever, whoever designed that layout needs a kick up the ass.

Anyway, this is the part of the meet where we have passenger rides, basically you say to whoever "oi you, take me for a spin?" We all oblige and the fun commences. Before this meet I had not had one passenger ride request however today me and my car felt more "abused than a ginger stepchild" :p

Everyone has a go in what motors they want, I took a few people out however on one run I thought hmm this is slow, I forgot I had turned my boost controller off opps an easy 20bhp ish down. Of course I had to rectify this by talking the people out again running proper power.

I had lots of fun on one of the tight left handers as round the corner in a lay by was a group of bikers having a meet of there own, they looked bored so everytime I went round the corner I tried to make the car dance to give them something to smile about. On my next to last turn I gave it some serious beans round the bend and the car went very sideways, I was infomed that it make the bikers smile, mission accomplished. :D

We all head to the pub and start to depart in dribs abd drabs, some hardcore people stay out until nearly 5, we then decide its time to go home and we ride off into the sunset:)

Was a great meet roll on MM7.:)

Great summary, you seem to have missed the fact that both the BMW bike rider and the BMW car driver got lost on the way to the 2nd pub though... ;)

What an awesome day:)

Si's GT4 suprised me, didn't think it'd grip like that, absolutely superb:cool:

Tom's Mondeo sounded immense with no backbox's! Not sure about it not losing any power though, NA needs backpressure! Interesting plastic bag moment though:eek::D

Cheers for the ride Andy, get them brakes purchased:cool:

Tesco finest bar staff? The young girl with black hair's accent was lovely. I'm moving to Halifax, or where ever we were:o
