Really! I've had enough. 16 year old killed for no reason.

I find it rather difficult to accept that the guy was killed for 'no reason'. Unless the attacker is soon to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act, it is unlikely he had no prior contact with the victim.

I think that's a totally unfounded assumption.

The only reason I don't agree with the death penalty is that our courts aren't good enough to not convict innocent people for murder.

The scumbag who did this should be locked up for life, people who commit unprovoked violent attacks in general ought to receive much tougher sentences.

How come there's no mention as to the killer's colour? How do they expect people to inform the police if they don't put out a description?

You'll get more, and more through appeals/revision of evidence with a death sentence than a life sentence though. So if you want to get out (and are innocent) death sentence would probbably be better as you then have 20 years and an ass load of appeals.

I also think there is a lot more to the story. If there is, I will look forward to linking this. The events that lead up to the murder seem a bit strange from the reports - but I'm sure it will all come out in the end - we will just have to see. From the reports so far (at 11:50pm on the 11th of May) - it seems like he was hit in the neck by a glass tray of sausages after standing up for his Brother (who was being initially being attacked for no reason) - he was also on the way to buy his first lottery ticket due to him just having turned 16 (whatever relevence that has)

Apart from that - it is quite shocking - but part of normal UK life these days.

If it turns out to be someone he knew - possibly a schoolmate or jeolous BF of his female friends - will it make it as shocking ? As was said, it happens all the time now - it's only when it's assumed it's totally random that it's 'really' shocking and the media has to make a big deal about it.

I just can't understand why he was attacked at random & from the reports I have read there is something that doesn't fit.

Right, as far as I know this is what happened:

Kid turns 16 and goes out with his brother to buy a lottery ticket, on the way back they popped into the bakery to buy some cakes. When they were in there a guy kicked off at the staff, a 60 year old woman and a 15 year old counter girl, and was threatening them with violence.

The 16 year old and his brother felt it was their moral duty to intervene and managed to get the bloke to leave the shop. Apparently he begun to walk off then grabbed the bakery sign and chucked it throught he window. He came through the window and used the sign to hit the youger brother before stabbing him in the neck whilst his other brother tried to fight him off.

My knowledge of exactly how the boy was killed with the glass isn't 100% but as you can understand I didn't feel like asking in too much depth on the subject. I know this because my girlfriends family were extremely close to the family of the victim.

Edit: as for how well the victim knew the attacker I am not sure. He is apparently a known troublemaker but whether they knew that at the time I don't know.

To be perfectly honest if it was someone i knew personally to whom this happened i would find it very very difficult not to do something unpleasant to said attacker.. (i have a vivid imagination)

Regardless of whether its a sensible thing to do or not. Enough is enough.

Saying "I've had enough" implies you have acceptable amounts of mindless killing haha

lol :D but no really it doesnt. It just means that said event has been happening so often as get to the point where its common and the silent majority (and me personally) doesnt want to live in a society that is that sickening, mindless and vicious. 1 or 2 rare events of such sickness ok fair enough..because there are sickos outthere.

But merciful saints....the day it becomes the norm is where the sickness has infected us as well because we accept it as normal. And that is a sad day indeed.

When i was a kid you didnae JIB someone for giggles or for no reason at all.... its the Lawless, feral nature of some youths nowadays....totally out of control.

It is so distressing for me to even read such things- It is amazing how much impact that single photo can have- knowing your looking at someone who is no longer here, a life just beginning and so tragically and completely unecessarily robbed.

I am aware so many die each day, yet it seems to be drawing closer and closer to home each day - to think of my friends, cousins or nieces are around that age.... :(
