My Dad always called me blue, no idea why, but I have heard it said by other people sometimes as well.

If he rang me, or saw me, he would greet me with "Hello blue"

Does anyone know where this originates from? I thought my Mum would know but she doesn't, and I can't find anything on Google.

Cheers.

Maybe hes thinks he is trying to be gangsta but is getting mixed up by saying blue instead of blud?

maybe this?

11. blue

UK slang, gang related / region specific:

Endeering term used for friends with business links, particularly in a few specific areas such as Streatham (blue town), Tottenham, and Cambridge. Used in place of "blud". Can get you in trouble around Woolwich and Hackney

"wassup blue, you got work?"
"yes blue, there's at least 5 for you to work, more if you can get some p's"

Be thankful he only calls you Blue. My dad varies between git, rat, toad, vole and you. When refering to me and my brother, it's normally vermin :)
