Students...all ****ers?

I wouldn't say they are all *whatever*, I just think the freedom of leaving home for the first time at uni can go to their heads.

I've known some very nice sensible students, and some complete muppets who well fit the unwashed, loud and lazy catagories above. But then there are plenty of people who weren't students and are still like that.

TBH being ****** off at life sucked working hard sucks for nothing sucks so i decided to go to uni (i had mass murder on my mind lol).
Being a student is pretty much work for a few hours a day if not any maybe some study but then either get No Swearing! or make noise. honestly can you say you didnt have fun if/when you were a student. We make the most of the time we have left of being lazy, load and annoying. cause we all end up being a bunch of up tight bunch of No Swearing! . Just look at most of your parents

Did you study english?

yea but i spent 6 months with MTV and pimp my ride for that long and cribs etc didn't do the brain so well. but im at uni now so its ok :) shows you how easy it is to get in doesn't it :)

I'm a student and all my flatmates (assigned randomly in 1st year) and housemates (folk I chose to live with in other years) have been normal, intelligent, decent people. And all my friends and most of their's, too.

Sure, we see plenty of idiots and hear lots of very strange stories, but you're bound to with 30,000 students at the uni! So yes there's plenty of idiots, but we're not all losers...

I guess it depends what degree you're doing, and what type of people you mix with, and how lucky you are about the people you get randomly chosen to live with - eg my sister's just finished her first year here, and has lived with THE messiest, most inconsiderate person imaginable. But he's French, so she should've seen it coming :p

I envy the students who are finishing their academic "year" now when I have another 2 months. My housemate has from today until the last week of September off. 4 and bit months. And she's gonna do nothing not even get a job. One of the many reasons why i'm leaving this house.

Tell me about it...

I finish my first year in about 4 weeks' time and then go to work for 9 weeks over the summer!

Students are lazy? Some might be, but not the ones I know.

You jealous of her and don't want to live with her because she chose to do nothing? Why do you even care?

I find that a little "look the other way" for things that doesn't really matter goes a long way when living in a student house. I mean like the example above, why do i care about a friend who is going to do nothing for 4 months? Its her choice and if she is nice and easy going person to live with then i don't give a crap what she does back home, she can sunbathe all summer for all I care.

I have lived in my share of student accomodation, probably more than anyone here I can promise you that, I've lived in Halls 3 times (in 3 different universities), house with 4 lads for a year, house with 3 girls for a year, alone with a landlord and some random woman for another year, and a mix boys and girls including an Ex and some French Girl for yet another year. All that time I've only ever truely hated 1 person, its only because he was a liar, idiot and right ****.

For example, he claimed once that someone went into his car and stole all of his biology notes so he couldn't finish his essay, he even reported it to the police so he got a crime number and got an extension on his project.....funny that the "thief" left his wallet, jacket, bag and his stereo in the car untouched. He would make a mess in the house and then later in the day flat out deny that it was him who did it, eat other's food. But i had to laugh when at the end of the year he bought some speakers off a white van and he thinks they are the dog's dangles, when they are utter ****. :D

The rest i can get alone with fine, be it if they are the girly girly type who likes make up and shopping, or the punk guy who is in a band and plays his guitar on full blast and sing during the day, or the football mad guy who loves singing robbie williams when he enters the house, in the shower, cooking, basically all the time. They are not really doing any harm and it's all friendly at the end of the day.

lol Geeks. some people would class our house as that as we play a lot of games online together but we somehow have a social life(well some of us). i just love how students have been given that stereotype. First thing that the uni tells us is to go to the union and drink (£1.50 a drink all night what we suppose to do). As for lazy i can see where that comes in but for some people like me who wants a decent job over the summer so i dont end up in the red like everyone else its harder as they base everyone the same (and i want a new pc :)).
Temp jobs over summer are so hard to find anyways.
Mature students just make me laugh because they try to answer the questions before the lecurer says it just to show off they have read the lecture slides 10mins before the lecture just as they are uploaded (right cool mate).

I think thats a bit harsh, seek. I'm a third year Civil engineering student and I'd say the type of people vary with which course they take as well to be honest. They aren't all ******* but i agree you do get some people like that. I think it really depends on what they are there for, is it to get out of having a job? Get drunk all the time? Or to get an education? With my course if you don't work hard you fail very quickly, thus everyone on my course is quite mature and decent (we still have a sense of humor tho!). I do however know guys on what I consider to be pointless degrees who just prat around all the time.

May be you just mixed with the wrong bunch?

Although I just ended I go into a 12 month internship. On plus it has great flexitime (I can start at 10 and end between 3pm and 8pm) and is good pay for an internship. Gonna be a change but should be good. A lot of students struggle with these placement years because they can't hack the working day.

If anyone here has worked for 3M Bracknell please spill any beans or gems of wisdom.. :)

She isn't a nice person. Since she moved in (January) she's split the house up it's more bitchy and there's more arguements. Good riddence. She thinks that the worlds got a problem with her. Always complaining about having to do a 2000 word every term, or how she can't lose weight. (She has 4/5 takeaway's a week) oh and she's never off facebook and updates her status 7/8 times a day.

If she sunbathes all summer I feel sorry for the neighbours. They'd probably mistake her for a beached whale. :D

Another thing that annoyed me was the theft in halls. One week I had all of my weeks food taken. The worst thing is that they didn't eat it. They cut it up with my own scissors and put it in the radiator!

I did actually laugh out loud... First time in a long time I've done that about something on the internet.

I can throw stones at our college it's that close & they invade our park in the Summer.
I'd say 85% of them are complete idiots & 15% are sound interesting & intelligent people.
Having said that though i have found wherever i have been to be the same, I think that percentage holds true throughout the World.
85% of people in this World are complete Idiots/Sheep/****heads & 15% are interesting & intelligent.
Some of these students come into the park & jump about on the kiddys roundabout & swings like retards until I tell them to **** off. Those that don't use the kiddys play area sit on the grass & literally just get up & walk away when they are finished leaving a circle of there Trash, Complete Skum bags & they are s'posed to be the well brought up kids from the nicer estates.
I can Honestly say that the Students cause Much more trouble & damage to the park than any of the local chavs.
Obvious benefits though are getting a shed load of young hottys strolling past my house from 9am onwards & absolutely reams of them sunbathe in our park.
One thing i will say though is if at any time i have had to deal with the students directly they have Always been reasonable.
If chavs are wrecking the play area i have to threaten to batter them before they leave where as students only need a strong Oi You **** OFF & they leave no prob.
I am a live & let live kind of guy though & only object to them invading the fenced off young kiddy area. If they are just chilling on the swings i ignore them but if they are being lairy i **** them off out of there with Insults like How kin old are you for ***** sake.
I'll finish off by saying i don't dislike students though & have no prejudice against them. I worked over Cov uni years ago on campus & had a Blast, I am jealous of the guys that are at Uni, They are young, They should be going places & they are surrounded by young intelligent women, What more do you want at that age apart from a few substances/partys & condoms :D

Try hanging around Manchester.... every undergrad student I meet is also a tree hugging hippy liberal that wants free education and world peace.

Hippys are a in a class of there own & should be shot on sight.
Anybody that looks like Jesus should be hung on a cross out of a mark of respect for the Big man.
Bring back Kill a Hippy day I say.
