Sky + to Sky HD

Does anyone know for sure when these new boxes will be available?
I can't find any info about it at all.

There is no official info and it's unlikely that Sky will announce anything anyway as they make no differentiation between different manufacturers kit when fulfilling to the customer i.e. you can't specify what box you want - well you can, but it probably won't make the slightest bit of difference, you just get the next box off the pallet in whatever warehouse is closest to you.

However, this also means that if independent ASAs request the new boxes then Sky are more than likely to comply and so that's where they will be seen first (read: ebay). The word from some ASAs and Sky employees is that deliverys have been made to Sky and final testing is taking place.

As far as ive seen, and quite a few, all current sky HD boxes are slighty flawed. Ive spoken to sky on many occasions, and they appear not to give two figs about any issues regarding, random crashes, 1 hour bug, and the FF/RW issues (normally its a £65 call out charge , and if they see a fault on a visit, they replace with a 2nd hand box, too which the problem still occurs). I get in a huff with them on the phone, and ask to be put through to cancellations, to which, i wait about 10-15 mins on hold, and ALWAYS get cut off before i get to speak to anyone else about it. As above, i cant really watch any show/episode or sport in SDTV, if its shown in HD. Football just looks horrid in SD, and that goes pretty much the same for anythink else. One tip, is when the box isnt being viewed, put it in standby mode. Appears most boxes not to hiccup so often this way. Also to my disgust , every SKY HD box you own , and wish to get HD viewing on, costs you a tenner per box, per month. I have the full package (multi/movies and sport) and its like a lot of dosh per month £75 (2 x skyHD boxes on HD subs)
