Aliens whats your view?

There are other life forms in the universe. 100% positive

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a complete idiot.

I'm agreeing with AcidHell2 here [sequel to AcidHell1?]. Though I strongly believe there is other life in the universe, I can't be 100% positive since I have no proof. I agree it is highly, highly likely that there is other life but I would never say I was actually knew there was until I saw - or met - an alien.

Nope as far as I know I'm the only acidhell.

An old game I played online required an extra digit and for some reason I stuck with this. I'm sure there was a reason for 2 but I can't remember why I chose that over anything else.

Edit - just googled seems there's many these days.

So your saying that if we ever discovered a spices like earth is now we'd just go, oo boring lets just **** about a bit then leave?

Maybe maybe not. If we were capable of inter-stella travel I am sure we would come across civilizations advanced way beyond what we are and also civilizations that are the equivelant to neanderthals. What would we gain by trying to make contact with people who can communicate because of where they are in the development of their species.

Likewise for a civilization that could be many millions of years more advanced than our own, what would they gain be trying to make contact with us. Purely from observing us they must realise that we can't be that advanced if we still continue to war with each other and we use an economic based system to distribute resources.

Given that we are incapable of travelling beyond our own doorstep at present, then it's all hypothetical anyway

lol you where sounding sane till you reached that point, why would they liveing some kind of star trek utopia where every one works for free.

But we would still meet people who are at the age we are now maybe we wont learn anything scientific from them, but they may still be worth talking to. After all why do people travel in ga years etc to Thailand and places, people like to explore.

Hmm.. you just gave me a thread idea.

Oh God, I hope they're not communists.

Maybe it does sound like a Star Trek Utopia. Think of it another way though, what enabled us to get into space and onto the moon. It was the cold war as neither the Americans or Russians wanted to be 2nd in a two horse race. Imagine if the Americans and the Russians pooled their resources back in the 60's how far more advanced would our ability to travel be. Should that be confined because of how commercially viable it is or should advancements only come about because of competing politic systems.

Even looking at the present day, you have the Chinese, Russians, Americans and to a lesser extent Europe investing billions on their own individual space programmes. Surely this should be for the benefit and advancement of man kind and not for the bragging rights of who did what first. Again, imagine if all of that expertise in physics, biology, astrophysics, propulsion etc from all of the countries concerned pooled their resources to one programme, I am sure we would be a lot futher on than we are now.

War advances it much more. In peace time money is spent else where. There is no reason why much further advanced species should be peaceful.

If you mean these lights

Then that was proven to be flares a while ago now.

You see this is the problem, these flares are not the black V shaped object that that people reported earlier in the night.

This is true but that assumes that other species rely on economics as we know it and are not peacful

But it shows how people can be mistaken and the army was doing something there, which could explain the earlier light. People thought these where similar/same as the ones they saw earlier in the night.

Yes, the phoenix lights were flares. There was a program on it, they re-acted it and it gave the exact same effect as well.

I'm not sure we are/have been visited, but given the vast size of our universe, there has to something else out there

I am not up to date on this but the program I saw years ago clearly claimed they couldn't have been flares due to the optical characteristics and wave lengths.

I've just woke up attempting to spend the night in my garden under the stars :D Needless to say I haven't seen anything, its damn cold and I have slugs all over me.

If I did see anything I could easy put it down to hallucination, I was absoulutly freezing my arse off and its the middle of summer.

He's one of them now!!! get him!

A lot of people did not and thats why they demanded action from the Pheonix authoraties for a full investigation.

Ten years after the Arizona UFO incident known as the “Phoenix Lights,” former Arizona Republican Governor Fife Symington, III, now says that he himself was a witness to one of the strange unidentified flying objects, even though he originally did not say so publicly.

“It was enormous and inexplicable,” he said in an exclusive interview from his home in Phoenix. “Who knows where it came from? A lot of people saw it, and I saw it too.”

On March 13, 1997, during Symington’s second term as Governor, thousands saw multiple triangular and V-shaped craft, gliding slowly and silently across the sky for half an hour beginning at approximately 8:15 pm. Awestruck witnesses, throughout the state, estimated that the eerie, lighted vehicles were bigger than many football fields, up to a mile long.

Arizona Senator John McCain, a friend of Symington’s who the former Governor describes as “open-minded,” acknowledged at a 2000 press conference that lights were seen over Arizona. “That has never been fully explained. But I have to tell you that I do not have any evidence whatsoever of aliens or UFOs,” he said.

The evidence for a possible UFO, which simply means something in the sky that can’t be identified, lies in the fact that countless witnesses reported seeing low, gigantic, technological flying machines that blocked out the stars - not merely lights. Now the former Governor attests to that.
Symington says he saw a large triangular “craft of unknown origin” with lights, moving slowly. “It was dramatic. And it couldn’t have been flares because it was too symmetrical,” he says. “It had a geometric outline, a constant shape.”

The sightings of the objects that evening are sometimes confused with the row of lights that appeared at about 10 pm, near Phoenix, and have been shown repeatedly on television news. These later lights were probably flares. People witnessed the objects at around 8:30 because they were outside on that pleasant, cloudless night watching the Hale-Bopp Comet.
Symington was known for ridiculing the incident at a spoof press conference, so his statement marks a dramatic turnaround. He wants to make amends to his constituents and set the record straight.

On the morning of June 19, 1997, when pressure was building from frustrated citizens who wanted answers, the Governor announced on television that he was ordering a full investigation and would make “all the necessary inquiries. We’re going to get to the bottom of this. We’re going to find out if it was a UFO,” he said in a serious tone.

Random question but has anyone ever wondered if the planets on our solar system, hold life actually inside them.

What's to say there isn't a world on the inside rather than the outside.....

and how does any of that show aliens?

People get contused about what they see. They then see newspaper articles and swear blind they seen something they didn't.

they think some of Jupiter's(?) moons may have life under the ice (if theres water down there) but unless there are large underground lakes/seas/ small puddles then there is little chance. And no chance of any intelligent life.

wow, way to whitewash over the whole incident. You'll be talking about marsh gas and venus next.

A huge triangular craft flew over Phoenix. Could have been military, could have been alien, could have been a brilliant hoax. But all those people didn't imagine it.
