No team from the home nations but still plenty of interest and talking points once the competition begins.
This time round it's being hosted by both Austria and Switzerland which will see one of the the big guns heading home at the end of the group stage. Italy, France and the Dutch have been drawn together and the other 3 groups are sure to throw up a twist or 2.

For those of you who have missed the draw for the upcomping tourny here are the 4 groups.

Group A
Czech Republic
Portugal
Switzerland
Turkey

Group B
Austria
Croatia
Germany
Poland

Group C
France
Italy
Netherlands
Romania

Group D
Greece
Russia
Spain
Sweden

How do you see group C finishing? Who are your favorites to win outright?

Possible poll for the winners?

It's tough, but I am leaning towards the German machine to lift the trophy.

I enjoyed USA'94 even without England. Not as much as normal, obviously, but still worth watching.

Anyway, Germany would be my pick. Relatively 'easy' group and playoff tree, plus the fact that with the tournament being played in .at/.ch, they may feel marginally more comfortable throughout the tournament due to everyone being fluent in German and perhaps a fair amount of support from expats. Sounds a bit trivial since when it comes to the matches that won't have much influence, but every little helps. Plus being 'ze Germans', they just seem to have that tournament mentality whereby they rarely perform below 90% of their capability. Klose always seems to be in the goals too.

I learnt my lesson in 2002 when I broke the golden rule of 'never write off the Germans', I thought they were the poorest squad I could remember in my lifetime, yet they still made the final (albeit via a few favourable draws).

Wanting Holland to win it, so many class players in there that I actually like, also like Portugal, so hoping for a Portugal-Holland Final. I reckon Italy and Holland will go through, knocking France out, they just both seem to be stronger teams...

I enjoyed USA 94 enormously without England in it. From then on everybody and their stupid car goes mental with the incorrect hope that England have a chance to win a trophy. It'll be nice to watch it without all the hype for once.

I'll be able to enjoy a month or so of football though of course the sooner the international sides with Arsenal players get knocked out the better please!

Plenty of interest? How?

OK, for the average Leeds supporter there isn't so much of an interest :p It's football

Plenty of Prem player's on show and potential transfer targets for the likes of those who are seeking to strengthen their respective squad's. "The top four" are bound to be in the market plus, the 3 new boys to the division.

The tourney will help those of us who will be suffering with withdrawal symptom's now that the domestic season has just about come to a close.

Looking foward to this :D, can't wait to see Portugal and Netherlands play. Spain will be worth a watch too.
