What hair gel?

I never use gel. Wet look is horrible.

When my hair is longer I use Garnier Surf Hair. It adds a bit of hold and texture, but doesn't look greasy.

When my hair is shorter, I just use Tony&Guy X-Clay. Very solid wax, in a stick that lasts for years.

I do, yeah. The surf hair stuff hasn't got the greatest hold but combined with a bit of spray, it's the business. :D
 
the vo5 texturising gum is what i use, definately recommend

also use dax (red) wax sometimes - wouldn't come out when swimming, i sometimes have to wash my hair with fairy liquid to get it out... strongest stuff i've come across

Have a look at the Kevin Murphy range of products. 'Gritty Business' is great it looks like you don't have any product in your hair, holds and lasts really well and washes out easily.

Expensive stuff though but it lasts ages.
 
I used to use gel a few years back, the 'surf hair' stuff. But stopped as I think it makes your hair look cr@p when you have not got any in.

Good washed, conditioned hair is the way to go :)

Thing is 10 years ago if this thread was posted on a forum no-one would believe it. Its funny how things change and men seem to be more caring about what they look like. Ok hairgel was used loads in the 90's but no-one really cared what make they used, it was more a case of slap it on.

fructis surf wax, used to use v05 matt clay but it was really heavy and virtually impossible to get out

now my hairs a little longer, a bit of wax goes in as well for hold
 
Was sorely tempted by the Fructis Surf or Manga in Tescos this morning - on BOGOF for a couple of quid - but thought I'd give the VO5 Matt Clay a go after all the love it's been getting in this thread ... used to use Black & White a few years ago but it used to be a bugger to wash out :)
