Catherine Tate on Dr Who

The more I watch Dr Who the worse it gets tbh, just too cheesy and too fake for my liking. The the special effects and CGI are just crap. All the sets look like they belong to a school play, just a really expensive one.

I'll take American sci-fi any day of the week.

Its a shame they killed Kylie off in the last christmas special, I would have liked her to be the assistant. Although I doubt she would have taken the job with all the touring she is doing :(

Mr-Xoc

She can act just as well as the rest of them tbh.
Nah, David Tennant is actually a pretty good actor. I've seen numerous other things he's been in, such as Harry Potter, Blackpool, Learners, etc... and he can act very well. Admittedly, he's not as good an actor, imo, as Christopher Eccleston, but that's because of Eccleston's talent not really a dig at Tennant.

Sylvester McCoy was the Daddy.

Nope, Tom Baker was, and always will be, the best Dr Who. End of discussion.

Freema was bad (if anything she's been better in her fleeting parts this series, than when she had the full run), Tate is just wrong for this show, it's good to have a strong second character, but her delivery style is totally wrong for this show.

Billie absolutely rocked. Eye candy, good delivery, her character developed.

I've realised that Dr Who is badly made scifi. BUT it's good badly made scifi. Cheap looking sets, dire performances, occasionally weak storylines actually make for good Dr Who.

It suffers badly from "villan of the week" syndrome, which unfortunately means that even the lead roles don't get that much developement as they don't have any long running relationships with anybody apart from the assistant. And a poor assistant means poor interaction which means no "atmosphere"

Hopefully they'll ditch Tate after one series too. She's great at her own style, but this isn't her style.

Why do I think if she was some young little mini skirt wearing hottie no body would be saying she was a bad actor........lol

We aren't saying she isn't worth a jump, she just doesn't work in the show.

Freema was young, but she was ****.

Its been pretty crap so far this season imo. The only real moment that left me wondering was the brief "Rose" appearence.

Definitely - well she is a very attractive young woman.

She's a lot better than the cardboard cutout that was Martha Jones. I must be in a minority because I actually like Donna as the companion, it was last season with Martha that really did my head in, she was just so dull, she may as well not have been there for all the effect she had, she was just a generic extra, not a doctor's companion.

Never watched any doctor who ever aside from this series so i cant compare, but for me she is fine i like her. I dont need to have some 19 year old blonde doing it, its a tv program, if i need to see some stunning girl there are other programs :)

same here, just started with this season and i think she does it quite well.
