I'll be watching, glad I can enjoy a tournament without all the stupid England fans who think every tournament is 'our' tournament spooling it :) My bet would be on Spain, but then it always is and they always seem to stumble.

Infact that's a point, I think I'll enjoy this tournament a LOT more purely because "engerlund" aren't in it.

I won't enjoy it more but equally I'm still interested in seeing international tournament football. USA'94 had a lot of good memories for me.... Stoichkov firing a freekick past Germany, that slaphead teammate Letchkov, Bebeto rocking the baby (first time I'd seen it), Sweden massacring Bulgaria 4-0, the drama of the shootout in the final with Baggio (reigning world player of year) blowing it, Ray Houghton's goal leading Ireland to victory over Italy, that weird cross from Hagi that went sailing in the far corner, Maradona's 'wild-eyed' celebration.....

In fact thinking about it, I can remember a lot more from USA'94 than I can about Euro2000.
Heck even Atlanta Olympics in 1996 had an awesome tournament without England, I remember staying up really late to watch the matches. Some cracking young talent from Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil etc on display with dead exciting matches.

Patriotism is really taking a hit in this thread:(

You mean large groups of "engurlund" fans that all go down the boozer, get slashed, then watch the team lose then cause trouble the rest of the night around town?

Nah, won't miss that, much rather just enjoy the football without having to worry about ****ers like that for a few weeks.

Oh, and the crappy little england flags on peoples cars won't be everywhere for change :)

I can't stand england. With half my club being spanish anyway I will hope the liverpool players do well and win the trophy. I will miss Ian wright (although now hes been axed) virtually crying on camera after england getting knocked out.

Spain or Holland win would be great for me.

I can't get interested in a big tourney that England aren't in. USA 94 was rubbish.

Likewise. At least it means the tourney is less likely to distract me from the cricket

Hard to believe USA'94 was 14 years ago; I was only 8 when that was on

Cannot wait for this to start, Poland have a really good chance of qualifying from the group.

No interest from me for this competition.
Just a great big reminder to all involved in the Mclaren debacle about how little they know about football.

I reckon the Czech Republic have a good shot to at least get to a semi-final but other than that I don't have a clue, I'll still be watching a fair bit of it. As a Scotland fan I'm pretty well used to not having my team there. :D

Gutting isn't it :(
I'll wait till the Tourney starts & hope it sucks me in. ******* me off No end though

I'd put money on Holland and Spain to go out in the group stages. Italy will grind out results and France have picked a squad which won't concede many goals I doubt, Holland always fail in one way or another. Spain have a strong team on paper but Russia, Greece and Sweden won't be pushovers.

Fancy Portugal for the win though, easiest group and probably the easiest QF draw (i'm presuming winner of A plays runner up of B?).

Few bits of squad news so far, Trezeguet and Clichy have been left out of the provisional French squad.

Not really, Abidal and Evra are ahead of him in the pecking order.

They may be ahead in the pecking order but it doesn't mean they are better. Evra is still quality but if he gets injured they're ****** IMO, because Abidal is a huge weak link.

Trezeguet should be in there as well, he's only out because Domenech hates him, despite the reasons Domenech cited about 'organisational issues.'

I'd take Clichy over Abigail any day of the week.
Funny thing is before the qualifiers I had a feeling that France were an aging squad who were getting a bit past it, but they seem to still be performing well and may have a chance.
