Guitar hero being weird

Me and a friend (utajoker) were just grabbing a few achievements for guitar hero 2, we heard that if you 100% heart shaped box on easy you get all the combo awards and the 100% award,

we were hoping to 5 star it but i guess we just weren't good enough :p

I've had this problem with GH2 as well - it almost seems random as to what number of stars the game will give.

well theres a set score cut off, so if you don't use star power well then its possible to get all the notes but not reach the score boundary. This is the first time i've seen it however.

EDIT: well that would be why then :p

With Guitar Hero 2 the co op was a bit screwed up. As either player can pick any level the score cut offs are much higher. My girlfriend and I got 100% on "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight" on Medium and still didn't get 5 stars.

The way to see this is to both pick easy, do a song, go out, both pick medium, go into the song list and your easy score is still there.

It's all based on the multiplyer you get. 2.8x will get you a 5 star. 100% doesn't always mean you kept streak as well, I have 3 gold stars on Trogdor on easy as I strummed after every note to keep a x1 multiplyer :)

if u dont miss a note how can u lose streak, letting go of a long note doesnt break streak, strumming when no note does break streak and multiplyer
I was just explaining the 100% doesn't always = 5*. I hit 100% on Trogdor, yet only had a 1 note streak :)

100% just means you hit every note, if you over strum (strumming where theres no note) its still possible to break your streak yet hit every note.

If you strum when there's no note to play it'll cut your note streak and your multiplier, but you can still hit all the notes.

100% just means you hit every note, if you over strum (strumming where theres no note) its still possible to break your streak yet hit every note.

You can strum then strum again between notes, still 100% the song but only have 1 note streak

*edit* damn you guys are fast

I thought I may as well be the 15th person in this thread to say that stars are awarded for the amount of points you get, use star power correctly.

;)
