A) ring all 15 other flats in your block to find who it is (a visitor of some resident) and make them move it;
B) block them in with a note on their windscreen asking them to ring my bell (matron);
C) park in a spare visitor spot yourself and cower like a little scaredy cat;
D) Call the clampers!

Now I don't want a war with whoever this is, and also to take into consideration is that my car (currently blocking the arrogant/inconsiderate imbeciles in) is as in my sig, while theirs is a beat-up Y-reg silver 206 (my concern being they won't think twice about damaging me)

What would you, or should you, do in such situations, to be safe?

i would leave it 30mins, if the cars still there call the clampers.

Edit. i can't see you sig what motor you got?

I think id probably realise that, in the wider scheme of things, a car parking spot doesnt amount to a whole heap 'o beans, and just park in a guest spot.

But wait...this is the internet....Therefore I would block them in, key their door and then go from door to door, ready to kill whomever it was with my trusty keyboard of doom.

This has happened before in my apartment block where all the spaces are numbered. Someone parked in my Wifes space and she went balistic. Not the most tolerant of people my wife.

She blocked them in and gave the lad (big sod he was too) a right mouthful when he came back.

Never seen a 6 foot bloke so sheepish before...

:D

you blocked them in and are now calling THEM arrogant and inconsiderate. You know just because you drive a BMW doesn't mean you can be an ******* and get away with it. I wouldn't be surprised if you car did get keyed with that behaviour.

As much as you're right, I have a thing about being considerate to others, and not being a **** who thinks they can park wherever they like with no regard for anyone else. It's about principles and decency. They deserve some annoyance due to their disregard, know what I mean?

you can't do a TL;DR then reply and expect to make sense, chap. and assuming you did read it and understood that this is my space which I pay for... hello?

Oh wait this is the internet... all BMW drivers are arrogant sods, sorry my bad

I'd park in the guest spot but put a polite note under their wiper saying if it happens again you'll call the clampers.

And the winner of over exaggerated Internet defence is..

You seem to have forgotten that if he wasnt in a BMW he would have done the same.. some nerk is in his spot..

so how does blocking them in do anything other than make the situation worse? I mean, you want them gone, but then you block them in, make up your mind. Sounds to me like you just want to start a fight.

True - but you're assuming that someone turne up and went 'Sod it, i'll park in someone else's spot'. If they're unfamiliar with the area they may have made an innocent mistake. I guess im just someone who beleives in giving others the benefit of the doubt, especially when in this case its not that much of a hardship to park in a guest spot. One parking space is as good as another, surely?

Or maybe he'd like a chat with the person to make sure this doesn't happen again? Depends, melodramatic Internet reactions are so much more entertaining than rational thought, we should probably stay away from that.

a chat, with how much hostility would it be?

A normal person would just park in the guest bay and forget about it, and only start getting so annoyed about it when it happens the second time.

maybe the person didnt realise? i've done it before when there was a mix of resident and public parking in a car park. i was lost and looking for a car parking space so popped into the nearest empty one.... even went and bought a ticket.... it weren't until i got back to a parking ticket 4 hours later i saw a sign furtehr up saying residents only on one side... :o
