Fiat Coupes any good?

Any of the coupe specialists can change the cam belt with the engine in the car. If I can do it in my driveway, then a well equipped garage should have no problems, unless they are employing particularly dense knuckle draggers.
 
Great car, great performance, great styling. Ignore those that have little to no taste in cars, it's pearls before swine ;)

That said these cars are getting long in the tooth now and keeping one on the road will I'm sure end up being an expensive experience.

The 5 cylinder 20 valve turbo charged lump is super sweet!

Yep, many of the "classic mags" have said they will be a modern classic.

The one the OP is looking at is a non turbo, you can tell by the wheels ;)

To be honest I'm tempted myself :) Near supercar performance for peanuts in terms of initial outlay. Ok so maintenance might cost a fair bit but where else are you gonna get performance like that for such a low cost? (talking 20vt here)
 
The red one pictured is the older style 16v 4 pot. These are probably insurance group 17 but are still quite fast if they have a turbo.

I hated the looks at first but i quite like them now and the sound great :D a chip would add another 40hp roughly if i remember right from my dads it just upped the boost
 
its 95 according to my insurance ppl..its an extra £307 to insure it compared to my 106. its also a bit cheaper to insure this coupe then insuring a 2002 Puma but £100 more than a 98 Puma.
 
They arent too bad just gently driving around but they do drink when giving it some. I can only speak from a bit of experience from a 20v turbo

I'm a bit confused, are you saying this R plate 1998 car is actually a 1995 car?

It's a 16v for sure if it's '95. If you want a coupe I'd hold out for a 20v, the 16v engines tend to eat their camshafts and the resulting debris wrecks the bottom end.

I can get 30mpg out of my 20VT driving it like Fox would, but typicaly 26-28mpg driven "normaly" which is actually very good for the performance. It does bring a tear to the eye when filling the tank takes over £60 these days though...
