No problem at all feel free. And if you get caught/fined that should also be no problem..

You are willing to take the risk for a short period of time, but get upset when faced with the consequences of your actions.

:D

As I said, complete refusal to take responsibility to follow simple instructions from the landowners...

I had to read up and know my rights when facing an £80 invoice last year. Was got for not displaying a ticket when the only pay and display machine was out of order. I said i'd be happy to pay for the time i was parked for, something like 80p per hour.

The PPC were adament that a £80 charge necessary, so i got clued up. Genuine mistakes happen sometimes, and i think pay on exit rather than pay and display help rule out a lot of the overstaying charges.

Not really a "complete refusal to take responsibility to follow simple instructions.." more a "**** OFF!!! thats way over the top".

I assume you'd enforce the same rule for all the disabled badge holders who are not actually disabled or those that have a badge for relatives and use it when they are not in the car etc etc etc.

Yes i would enforce it if they are not disabled, after all they shouldn't be parking there should they, again it comes down to laziness and they are denying someone that space who may actually need it.

As for mother and baby spaces, they can walk round the supermarket for an hour or so but they can't walk an extra 20 yds to the door?!? pull the other one it's got bells on!

You obviously dont have any young children do you..otherwise you would actually understand the principle of the parent and toddler spaces.

Ever noticed that these spaces are extra wide?..nothing to do with the position in the car park, its about being able to fully open the door to get a small child out of the seat, and manouvre a pushchair if needed without actually damaging the car in the next space.

Your not really very bright are you..but dont worry that will change when you have kids.

Well said.

Why be fined though? if i was using a space that could clearly be used more appropriately by others then fair enough.

What about at 3am at my local 24hr tescos, infront of the door is about 10 parent and baby spaces and 20 disabled bays. Of which i have never seen them being used by parents with children or disabled people. Not ok to use them then?

Or, how about disabled badged cars parking in parent and child spots? surely thats just as wrong! (and the other way around).

lol I often look after my two nieces (4 and 7) and nephew (2) on Saturday mornings. Not being a parent I sometimes forget that I can park in the Family spot. I've never found it a real struggle or something to moan about to the degree you have. Being a parent you should have plenty of practice at keeping your kids in check.

tbh I find it quite pathetic to name call another forum as you were clearly you were having a dig. Hopefully your parenting wont suck as much as your post.

Oh and while getting back on topic. I parked in a Family space last night eek: It was 23:30 and there were 4 cars in the car park. Unless its normal for families to shop at this time I see no reason no to be 'lazy' and park closer to the entrance.

Clearly I'm going to hell for this

Unless its a Council ran car park they can't enforce any fines. I agree parking in a 'special' space when the carpark is busy is a bit naughty but they can't do anything about it.

Do you need a ladder to get on/off you high horse?

ignore the holier than tho people. Just bin the ticket and get on with your life. I accept the need for disabled parking but nevertheless just ignore it..

I'm not saying the principle is wrong here at all..you are absolutly correct in all your statements.....perhaps you/we/I should be writing to the supermarkets about these issues.

What is wrong however is that people know when they park in these spaces what the potencial concequences/fines are..regardless of fairness etc and amounts they still know what will happen if caught. And yet still complain when it happens. If you truly believe its unfair to be fined 30/40/80 quid or whatever the amount happens to be then dont bloomin well park there in the first place and take the risk.

I'm still trying to work out wether its pure ignorance or stupidity that is responsible for this.

Problem is places like Asda and Tescos can't enforce a parking fine. The spaces are just markings on the floor. You could park over 3 spaces if you wish and besides a snotty note on the windows they can't do much else.

If they could enforce a fine then its at the drivers risk if they want to chance it. Personally its bugs me when people park in the wrong spot when the carpark is busy, however if its only part full or there are loads of family spaces I'll happily nip in one if I'm grabbing some milk etc.

what annoys me that they will try and fine you for parking in a parent and child/disables space, but will take no responsibility if some pleb parks next to you and dings your pride and joy and its an argument i use every time a tesco employee pulls me up for using p&c
are you going to pay for the dings and dents ? no then i'll be parking here then :)

Unfortunately you are experiencing the greatness of a very part time child carer.
The kids will bless you with being better than normal for the time you are with them, hell my boy is the same when others have him for a short period.
You dont find it a chore or a problem because you either never have an issue or its so rare that its not really a problem. When you are using these places more often you will see how much of a god send then are :]

I see what you're saying. However no trip is without problems I just deal with it and get on.

Usually the 4 year old screams and wont get out of the car but is fine once outside. I just get her out first while the other two are strapped in.

I think some people get stressed to easily. I can't wait to have my own kids.

What evidence have i given you that i cant as a parent keep my kids in check? Personally I'm not bothered about the parent/toddler spaces and rarely use them, I prefer to use the normal spaces and give the car next to mine a good ding :) however i understand why the supermarkets provide them AND put them fairly close to the entrance, something that other people here fail to comprehend.

As for your parking at 23.30 when its quiet..again i have no problem with that.....BUT if caught you would be the first to moan about it and say how unfair it all is. Thats what I have a problem with...you do the 'crime' you serve your time!!!!!

You are also correct that they cant enforce the fines..I would like to see the spaces become free to use for anyone between the hours of 8pm and 8am personaly..anyone taking a toddler out shopping between those kind of hours has a problem. I also would like to se the arrogant gits who then use the spaces outside of the free time clamped..so they cant get out of the fines.

Would you like to borrow my ladder? your horse appears to be about 6 hands higher than mine ever was.

If I was given a fine for parking in a family space at 23:30 at night I'd have a little chuckle to myself and bin the ticket. No moaning as there's nothing to moan about.

I don't need a ladder thanks, I have servants to lift me up and down.

Have 2 x

My whole argument for not paying this fine is that there were 6 or so free disabled places after my Mum parked the car, and furthermore she was going shopping which makes Asda money. So why on Earth should she get fined £30 for parking in a space that would not have been used.

I understand if there was a queue of disabled people waiting around annoyed that they could not park closer, but that was not the case.

More to the point, if a disabled person can wonder around Asda to do his/her shopping, walking a few more metres to and from their car is not going to kill them!

More to the point if a disabled person can unload their wheelchair and roll around Asda to do his/her shopping, crossing a busy carpark to and from their car is not going to kill them! I hope.

There are plenty of places in this Asda car park where you do not have to cross a single road to get to and from the entrance.

And seriously though, who cares if someone parks in a disabled spot when there are plenty of special disabled spaces remaining?

Eh? simple scenario - single mother with toddler.
there would be a number of reasons why a mother in this situation may have a toddler with her going into a 24hr supermarket.
hell ive taken my boy in in the early hours as he was wide awake, so i took advantage and did some shopping :]

So why not park there instead of a disabled bay?

Umm, the disabled drivers and the guys that issue the tickets i'm guessing :p
