Ok, so I was shopping in Asda earlier, walking down the crisp isle and there was a young girl putting large multi packs of crisps in to a large cage sat on the floor. Her manager comes walking along and starts shouting at her saying shes doing it all wrong, putting them in the wrong place etc. Anyway, she looked very upset and I felt it was my place to speak up. The conversation between myself and the "manager" went something like this:

me: excuse me mate, I dont apprechiate you shouting at your staff like that, especially infront of customers

manager: im not shouting at her, mind your own business (cheeky or what!!)

me: mind my own business? how dare you speak to a customer like that? she's quite obviously upset because of you, go get your store manager so I can report this whole thing

manager: that wont be necessary

he then appologised to myself and the girl.

that was the end of it, I carried on shopping for a few minutes and the girl came over to me and thanked me and said hes always like that.

Now how can someone like that stay in a managerial position? makes me sick.
 
you become a retail manager by working in retail until they run out of other jobs to give you. i had a manager during my student days who couldn't read properly.
 
should have decked him. then run off into the sunset with the bird in your arms.
 
Good for you, standing up for her like that. Should have carried it through and got the manager regardless.
 
All managers in retail are complete and utter ****heads (and fyi i didnt swear i actually filterd myself dont ban me plz, i have so much to give OCUK) lol.
 
Unfortunately there are people like this in a variety of jobs. Well done for speaking up (the girl obviously appreciated it) however I'm afraid he's just as likely to do it again tomorrow.

Like others, I'd add that you should go over his head to the store manager.

you do realise that there is no swear filter on OCUK, you have to filter it yourself. don't you?
 
I did this not too long ago, but the "manager" made a mistake as he didnt bet on the young girl being my sister, he didnt work there a week later.
