8 Cans of Lager/Cider at local Offy, How much you pay?

I bought 8 cans of Woodpecker tonight for £5.50

Strongbow was 5.50 too, but i wanted to remain half sober rather than half cut. :)

Now i know supermarkets do better deals on big cases etc. But surely im not the only one who buys 8 cans from the off licence every now and then.

So what do you pay for ya cheap manly in house tipple? :)
 
£5 for a gallon of medium sweet cider from the brewery (£3.50 if you take back the original container!!) and a gallon is near enough 10 large cans of stronbow so a little cheaper, bit stronger and a lot nicer :)

At around 9% I suspect the floor :p

The cider is fantastic, and tastes 'too good' in a way: you forget your drinking something so strong and full of alcohol as it goes down easier than a greased up essex girl.

The only downside is that it doesn't keep as long as a can etc- once you take it from the barrell its best to consume it within the week unless you can keep it in similar conditions to the barrell store.
 
Where in the south west are you mate? my grandads family were all cornish, so i think thats where my cider drinking comes from.

can you actually just go to the brewery and buy it direct?

Dont want to remain "sober", just dont wanna feel too drunk. because to be honest im a bit of a girl when it comes to strongbow.

if i drink strongbow at a pretty fast rate like i do in the house. I normally zonk out in bed snoring and drooling on my lass haha :D

but since woodpecker is only 3.5% 8 cans of that just have me mellowed out

didnt realise woodpecker was so weak!!, tried it once and it was far too sweet for my liking anyway :p

I think so :eek: I beleive they started adding poison to it a number of years back so people wouldnt drink it, (the brothers festival strength pear cider it nice btw so I wasnt knocking it, its very good at sneaking up on you and getting you very drunk)

Also in reply to the OP, I pay £5.79 for 8 cans of strongbow at local waitrose, normally but gaymers or scrumpyyyyy though.

haha, you must be an idiot and pretty desperate to resort to drinking that anyway. personally, i'd go all out if i was desperate, and drink isopropanol :p


pear cider is good. specially the strong one lol. ive always wanted to try the toffee apple one though, sounds a bit sickly though, i know the pear and strawberry one is.

oh god the toffee apple one is rough after the first two swigs, it smells nice and intially tastes nice but the after taste is god awful, tastes very artificial, was a dissapointment tbh your not really missing out sadly, was really hoping for great things :p
