8 Cans of Lager/Cider at local Offy, How much you pay?

oh god the toffee apple one is rough after the first two swigs, it smells nice and intially tastes nice but the after taste is god awful, tastes very artificial, was a dissapointment tbh your not really missing out sadly, was really hoping for great things :p

aw damn.. ill avoid it then. anyhoo >_> back on topic i guess :p

Where in the south west are you mate? my grandads family were all cornish, so i think thats where my cider drinking comes from.

can you actually just go to the brewery and buy it direct?

I am in one of 3 southwest locations: in North Somerset with some family and where I grew up, Lanner (Cornwall) with the other family home, or at Plymouth where I am just finishing University.

So SouthWest through and through :) and I'm sorry to dissapoint you but I don't think cider drinking is inherited down through the bloodline :p

Yes, you can just turn up at most cider breweries and get them to fill up whatever containers you have on you, whether it barrel, jug, hipflask or wellington boots! :p

it varies the sainsburys local near me normally charges ridiculous prices for alcohol but have some special offers now and then, i like the 660ml stella for £1.35 but its usally 8 for 6 quid on fosters or kronenburg.

It was a serious comment. Woodpecker, Strongbow, Blackthorne etc are not proper cider. They are commercialised alcoholic apple flavored drinks that get you drunk, I should know, I drink enough of them (im a student, there cheap). Proper Cider isnt bought in cans in 8 packs, its bought in bottles or jars or welington boots (:)) and shouldnt be transparent or very fizzy.

Back to the OP, I dont see many 8 packs of (fake) cider really, all the supermarkets have moved to the 18 can packs for stupid cheap. 8 packs of most things are quite rare now, its normally a 4 pack or boxes that contain 12 or more. In my first year at uni I did make good use of the 8 cans for £5 offer on XXXX at my local offy, but now there normally atleast £5.50-£6 if you can find them.

You're a commercialised alcoholic drink. Jesus christ

Strongbow and scrumpy were my tipple at uni. Everyone else on their 4% lagers were either rich or just lightweights :p

But still nowadays finding a bar with good cider is crap, as most only have silly magners in a bottle at the great price of about £4-5  Much prefer a nice cloudy cider.

2 Litre bottle of half decent cider at my local offy - £2.19
8 cans of kronies - £7

I get them at my local One Stop but 50 metres away they are just about finished knocking together a Spar so looking forward to a wider range of fizzy man pop :D
