another quik question lads

Bit like sticking a V16 engine in a Mini :p

I can always remember my helping my mate shoehorn a 1.4 16v engine into his old mini but he didn't have any more money to upgrade the brakes.......about a week later he never stopped at a t junction and put it through a stone wall

Brakes had failed totally.

Your anology isn't quite right though since the engine out to be the cpu. In the op's case it's a bit like taking a standard mini and putting a £5000 rally gearbox, upgraded exhaust system, carbon fibre brakes and leaving the engine alone and then wondering why it doesn't go any faster :p

well if you want to be pedantic i guess so :p

A Hyabusa engined Mini would be my ideal car :)

EdGey it was Skunsta that mentioned about the jumps and such but I do know of these also as 125FPS is needed for most jumps and 333FPS for others :).

About your friend trying an Ultra and having no success is screaming of a CPU bottleneck to me. I know for certain that Call of Duty 1 is a CPU dependant game as it's based on the Quake engine. United Offensive could be the same and especially at 1280x1024 so maybe your friend needs to update his CPU, RAM and Motherboard to start seeing an increase in performances. Even a new monitor capable of at least 1680x1050 would see a major difference I feel (dependant on the CPU of course :)).

Edit: I just read your m8's system specs and I agree, he should be getting better performances . Maybe suggest a BIOS update, cleaning out old drivers safely (Driver Sweeper etc), a little overclock on the Quad and trying a few drivers out and see if that helps.

I hate to break it to both of you bu neither of you are even seeing anyhing over 60FPS, or 75FPS, unless you have some sort of fancy monitor that refreshes over 100 times a second. :p

With hat in mind, and to answer your question, he won't see any difference what-so-ever. Running FRAPS may give him higher numbers but he won't be seeing any extra frames.

As Tech said you dont get 500fps on your 60 hertz lcd its a optical illusion :D but sure helps with them jumps :o
