Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots *Snaaaaake! Edition*

I'm not too bothered with mandatory installs, but I can understand the frustrations of 20gig users. Without music or other media files, a typical 20gig user can only install 4 games then the HDD is almost completely used up. That's really bad.

O bloody hell, these installs are starting to annoy me, i wouldn't mind if it was like 1Gb but recently they're like around the 4gb area. People who have 40gb PS3s are going to run out of space quickly as more games come out with mandortory installs!

i agree
i have a 40gig and already seeing it will have to be upgraded pretty soon if i want to keep games installed on my hdd

This hasn't been mentioned from what I can see, but..

The Japanese version of the game will have auto-aim ON by default, where the US and UK (See: Western) version will have auto-aim turned OFF by default.

I'm not sure what happens if you have a JAP PS3 and buy the UK game though :o

Will there still be lots of in-door sneaking around?

I didn't like the last MGS, far too much out door stuff.

However, I loved MGS2, completed it but just spent half the time on the boat messing around.

Please say there is!

There's a much greater emphasis on stealth, Snake's camouflage suit says it all really.

Will look even better when you play it, the screenshots completely lack the grittiness and visual style shown ingame. All the screens of MGS4 shown are so sterile and almost too clean. Midtown Maelstrom (in MGO) just knocks the socks off any screens with its humidity and dusty haze. The atmospheric effects and film-like picture is just totally missing from every single screenshot shown so far, save for direct captures.

Couldn't agree more mate, I know its the typical 'next-gen' brown, but it looks bloody gorgeous to me.

I don't know which I want more MGS4 or MGO

You get the metal gear online starter pack with MGS4 which includes a few maps and game modes, but more content will be released on the PSN to flesh it out for those who like it enough to pay a bit extra (myself being one of those people going by the beta).

[EDIT] I'm concerned about the long cutscenes comment, i'm sure they'll be great but i rarely play computer games for more than an hour at a time (or rather, i'm rarely allowed to, damn girlfriend), so i'm unsure of how i'll manage this.

I look forward to the long cutscenes - they drive the story - all metal gear solid stories so far have been awesome!

I hope they have a European-extreme difficulty option again, thats was intense :D

oh and theres no 90 minute cut scene apparently

http://dailygamesnews.blogspot.com/2008/05/gamepro-kills-mgs4-90-minute-cut-scene.html

Probably some tard got confused between 90 minute total, and just 90 minute, or they got confused with that film they made from cut scenes/game play to explain the back story you could buy.

Although if there is should still be sweet :D

As a means to get a leg up on their busy, busy Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots launch duties, series creator Hideo Kojima and lead artist Yoji Shinkawa will be appearing at the shop on Oxford Street in London, England next Monday, June 2nd, 10 days before the game releases. Rather than signing copies of the game itself, Kojima and Shinkawa will be signing exclusive shop sleeves that will slide over your copy of MGS 4, available with your £5 deposit on the full game. Autographs will begin promptly at noon, with sleeves available from 9:00am.

While I suppose it would be much more appealing to have them signing copies of the game on launch day, it is nice to see Kojima and Shinkawa taking the time out of what is sure to be an extremely busy early June schedule to show the UK some MGS lovin'.

I got the day off work already but i gotta take a mate to the airport that day GRRRR
