Please check my spec for Photoshop/Lightroom build

With help from a number of people on this forum (THANKS) I have come up with the spec below for running Photoshop and Lightroom.

I have a couple of questions:
Is the PSU good enough to run this setup? Should I upgrade to 500W
Is the Graphics card up to the job? I intend to run a 22 or 24 inch LCD.

Any other comments?

Your system is more than adequate for running both photoshop and light room simultaneously! The GPU and CPU aren't energy hungry, so the 430Watt from Antec (which is very energy efficient) is more than enough.

Edit:
I run both, inc Firefox, WMP11, Outlook 2007 on a 1.86 C2D, 2GB 5300 DDR2 RAM, 5,200RPM HDD Laptop with a 7800GS (256MB) GPU. No need to worry unless you're gonna be working with really HD movies...

Having realised that I couldn't fit a Artic Freezer 7 pro to the IP35-e I have now changed the MB to the IP35.

Hopefully this doesn't change anything else:)

That should all work nicely. I'd use a better HSF than the AC7 but my Q6600 is at 100% all the time, running Folding@Home.
The only real addition I'd suggest is a second 1TB drive and run it in a RAID1 with the other 1TB for resilience. I'm assuming that the 1TB is your main data drive and that keeping what's on it safe is of interest to you. Also, how are you going to back up the drive?

One of my reasons for going with the IP35 is that it has 6 sata connections. I plan to have a second external 1 TB drive to back up to and store this off site when I am away on holiday etc. As a photographer I am paranoid about backing up, I back everything up to extra disks and DVDs....

Do you know if the IP35 supports Raid? If it does adding another 1 TB drive sounds like a good idea. I downloaded the manual but it is a bit thin on details.

I am not planning to overclock the machine so thats why I have gone with the AC7. Whilst I have built 4 or 5 machines I have never overclocked anything, maybe in the future.

Would you say this is the best value for money for a quad core machine at the moment, I am hoping this will last a few years.

Yes, the IP35 does support RAID - I think it's the main difference between the IP35 and IP35E - and it's clear from the specs on Abit's web site.

My Q6600 isn't overclocked more than a few percent, just running flat out.

My username is nothing to do with my sig so you can probably guess I take the odd photo or two.... I'm old and paranoid about drive failures (I've seen whole batches fail) so I always use RAID 1 plus my backups are as rigorous as I'd use for my commercial IT clients. I use a batch of 250GB HDDs with one of these so no caddies are required plus DVD-RW for differential backups. 250GB is starting to get a bit small now....
