my personal favourite would be the first solo in Celebration Day (Led Zeppelin) by Jimmy Page.

Great choice, the song is simply superb.

Eddie Van Halen playing on Beat It is pretty good as well, apparantly he did it one take, no rehearsals which makes it even more impressive to me.

Pretty awesome sounding stuff from Necro, but there is life to solos except endless sweeps.

My favourite Metallica solo is in Wherever I may Roam.
