People who live North of Gloucestershire are likely to say Bath with a very short "A" and people south of that are likely to say Bath with a long "A"

It isn't rocket science.

I'm from Kent originally so I say "Bahth"

Same goes for glass, grass, father, class etc etc etc

Bah-th, the proper way ;)

However people who know me know that I speak rather proper English. :)

Similarly to Leon having been brought up to speak by colonial service-educated father it was hard not to. Furthermore, English language classes in France always had the proper pronunciation taught to us - I went to a bilingual school when in France.
