New Car Again - ST220

Picked up my new car on Sunday, a Mondeo ST220 in Performance Blue.

Usual high spec including:

Cruise.
Auto Lights.
Xenons.
Auto Wipers.
Heated Electric Recaros.

On the list to sort is, full clay/paint correction and refurbish the alloys. Needs a good clean inside once the weather is nicer.

Pics:

Initial thoughts are, it's very refined/comfy and smooth with great mid range grunt. On the motorway it's perfect with the cruise, wafting along.

Outright performance is similar to the Integra, a bit slower but feels faster due to the mid range grunt. Handling isn't too bad for the size of car, just need to be careful as being so refined you end up entering corners much faster than expected!

All depends on what mileage it is I guess, if its from ford dealer with 1 yr warranty and what sort of SH

depends on whether its a 2004 53 plate, or a 2003 53 plate and whether it was bought privately

If its a private 2003 53 plate, then yes its very very over priced

if its a 2004 53 plate from a ford dealer with ford dealer warranty, then its just slightly over book price

A mate of mine just bought an 04 ST220 with 33K in silver for 8.5K

Doesn't really do it for me at all but he likes it.

It's a facelift with the six speed box. Mpg, I only just figured out how to reset the trip. But the previous owner was getting 24.4mpg in stop start traffic.

Thats pretty good. When did they introduce the facelift and what other things did they improve apart from the gearbox and looks?

Facelift came in from the beginning of the 53 reg in 2003 I think.

Not too sure of all the differences of the facelift, what I know is the g/box, dash materials and a few bits on the exterior?

Not that many differences, off the top of my head :

6 Speed Gearbox, Sony CD System, rear light clusters changed and some chrome round the front grill
