England vs USA and T&T *Spoilers*

One of the slowest halves of football i've ever seen, at least it brightened up a bit towards the end.

Rooney was great, Hargreaves and Gerrard were OKish, everyone else was rubbish. With the amount of free kicks the Americans were giving away we were bound to punnish them eventually. I thought Lawro summed up the USA perfectly, "they're a team of spoilers".
 
Aye, Rooney, Gerrard and Hargreaves only players looking lively.

Hargreaves should have been given a chance at one of those free kicks, guess he's way down the pecking order though!
 
Atleast beckham's got form.

I wanna see some more of the worked freekicks rather than becks having a shot, although he'll probably get one!

He was the only one who looked up for it from the start, no one else was interested. If the rest of the team had been playing like that we'd be 2 or 3 up by now.
 
Rooney also let his frustrations get to him again when he lunged in that tackle near half time, when Cappello said he needed to be greedier I don't think he meant to try and eat them.
 
not "too" bad we just seem to much of a hurry to do something with the ball in the final 1/3. Instead of playing it around trying to open them up we tend just to lob it in the box and hope, been that way for years.

Looking up for it and being great are different things. He's done well but other than the link-up with Gerrard for Defoe's chance, there's been very little end product from him

He got himself in some great positions but his final ball hasn't been up to it (once for Gerrard and twice for Defoe).
 
What a tedious 1st half. I'm missing "The Worlds Most Shocking Police Chases" on Bravo and Psychic Interactive on Red (sky channel 186) for this.

Anyone else missing something stunning on Cable/Sat/Freeview?
 
no one's looked great but the aforementioned players have looked decent. energetic if nothing else. i wouldn't even be watching this normally but i'm already beginning to miss my football fix.
