I think if what the op has said is true he's in for some fun when he goes up against the beak - drink driving (just unlocking the car is enough for that at times), no insurance and no excuse (not that there are many excuses that will let your out of a drink driving or no insurance charge).
I think he's pretty much screwed as the law requires a mandatory disqualification for the drink driving (from memory), and the magistrates tend to see a lot of chavs and idiots who think they know better than the law.
About the only thing that might help is if he's massively contrite, honest and sincere when he see's the court, as that might help get them to lower the fine a little bit - the judge or magistrate will probably have had every single excuse in the book for why someone was getting into a car whilst drink, or driving without insurance (and for the insurance about the only one that works is if your boss told you you were insursed on a works vehicle).
This does of course assume the op isn't a wind up merchant.

Just read the amount over the limit he was, from my limited understanding that is very likely to put him into the "high risk" range under the drink driving rules (same as if you're caught drink driving twice in 3 or 4 years), which could mean he gets the pleasure of a medical report and extended retest at the end of the ban.

I KNOW im screwed and im gonna be banned whatever happens as im pleading guilty to that. trust me a years ban is enough to make me never do nothing like this again.

Everyone else seems to want you dead and drink driving is never a good look but i do have some sympathy tbh. I know how much a year without my car would hurt me and sounds like you just forked out for a new car so gonna sting all the more, but then maybe thats the best/only way to learn? Either way tough break with what happend, tho as ppl have said your own fault
there is the posibility to have a ban halved if you agree to take some tests pre and post mid term iirc.
I'm sure my brother in law had his dropped from 2 to 1 year on proving that he was not an alcoholic basically.

I strongly suggest you say nothing. If you communicate in real life like you post on here anything you say will only lengthen the ban. In fact, if you open your mouth they'll realize instantly that they're dealing with a complete moron.

Expect to be made an example of, drink drivers and insurance dodgers are always (quite rightly) shafted. How old are you? I'm guessing you're young -17-19? Learn and NEVER do it again
