That depends on what you compare it to. It isn't an M3 rival, you can only really compare it with the E92 335i. Most would agree the S5 looks better, it has the better interior, it's faster, sounds better, and the build quality is superior. Of course the 335i is better to drive, but whether potential owners of such cars are bothered about this is another matter. I've actually seen a lot of S5's around recently as well.
