whens the new iphone coming out??? i wanna see piccys
I've had a Macbook and borrowed a Pro and now have an Air. I don't see why people have problems with them. The Air can do anything the Pro can, maybe 5secs slower. Are we really that impatient?
Touché.yes when it costs more.
yes when it costs more.
But it costs more cos it's thinner and weighs less.
Both advantages of which are completely cosmetic (perhaps weight is a bit more than that) over a product which has a good look and doesn't weigh that much, imo.
The Air needs to have something else about it. That doesn't mean people won't love it when they see it or want to get one but in comparison to the MacBook Pro it's a no-brainer for the majority of people.
How can weight be cosmetic?
You should read the quick edits.
The weight is a good advantage to it for practicality but it's one of few actual features. For me, the Air is a product that will be the base of a really useful product.
For now, it's nothing special in terms of what it offers for the price point.
Not having a go at anyone who owns an Air, but that's just my viewpoint.
Anyone here use a MacBook air for serious work?
Erm, isn't that what Macbook is for?Anyone here use a MacBook air for serious work? I quite like the look of them in the shop but I'd need to run vmware and visual studio with a half decent battery life and I'm not sure its completely up to the job?
Erm, isn't that what Macbook is for?
Macbook is actually more powerful than Macbook Air with longer battery life, just a bit bulker thats all.
Macbook Air is ideal for business people who travel a lot especially by air and for office applications.
If I had a choice between the two, I would go for Macbook since it's more powerful and around half the price of Macbook Air.
??? Have you even owned one instead of using internet reviews for comments? The battery on my Air lasts longer than that of the MacBook Pro I borrowed, or the Macbook I had. Admittedly it was awful in the beginning (8-12hrs to charge?!?!) but has quickly settled down. I'm using it right now, on wifi in my Office, and have been doing since 7 and battery is at 67%. Although I do have the SSD version.poor battery life it pretty much rules it out as an ultra-portable for serious use, and really leaves it purely for people who really have a space problem (although you need to take the PSU when potentially you wouldn't for a MacBook)
