That does not proof anything and the reason why very much depends on the religion.

Funny how you would even know the word 'proof', you have none so makes your beliefs a little unfounded.

I'd say to disbelief something you cannot prove would be the sensible choice, and would deffo get better odds at ladbrokes

Not religious myself, just saying what Jesus said. And yes i do have a soft spot for magic markers.

Actually I'm agnostic so don't believe anything. Other than your view points are unfounded and a worrying trend in modern society.

It's attitudes like this, that I can see religious people being persecuted and more than likely banned in the future. Thankfully it won't be in my life time.

I'm not sure if there's any higher power out there -- Gods, Aliens, or super-smart dolphins. I just know it's best to NOT tick them off if they are out there. Part of that effort is to not choose any particular one to worship.

indeed why worship any? Anyone else feel uncomfortable with having a deity that needs to be worshipped? insecurity complex much?

The higher power thing... my take on it is..do you honestly think that in all existence Man is at the top of the tree? Look at it from outside our own perspective. We are just another organism. Without a shadow of doubt there is more going on in this crazy place than we will ever know.

Life isnt like an xbox360 game where you must try to get 100% achievements.. (ie do and know everything) (hrmm not sure why i said that last bit)

everyone can believe what they want...

I'll only believe what I can see is proved by fact, the minute you stray from fact, your entering the world of fantasy... and thats a scary thing to do as 'fact' was designed to keep you alive as long as possible.

It makes me laugh when religious peoples say that science can never prove anything, although theoretically true it is a very poorly constructed excuse as a counter argument, but funnily so are most, including the classic if you can't prove it then it has the possibility to exist.
If religious advocaters want a decent argument, then we should both start with a clean slate then see which one can come up with the most evidence to support their claim assuming that nothing exists until proven.

I would like to know from a religious perspective what is the single most important and undeniable solid piece of evidence that is grounding there claim in existence.

And what fatc do you base it on? science? science isn't fact.

There's not a problem with what you believe but there's a serious problem with your attitude and how you think of religious people. Which many people in this thread share with you in this thread.

What ever happened to tolerance?

Didn't we have this thread last month?

Seems to be all to familiar?

I suppose posting on the 15th page I'm interrupting the usual arguements among the usual suspects.

Sorry.

What is it by your definition?

At least science is self consistent with itself.

Yes it's a predictive model it's not fact

How many times does a predictive model have to be proven correct before its is fact?
Is it not a fact that humans have a brain or nerves, or are they just predictive models? Ok maybe not the best of examples because they can be seen, but what about the boiling tempertature of water, its a predictive model about how water molecules behave but is it not a fact then then that they will boil at 100c?

Does religion have predictive models about anything?
