Excuse the question but do ALL the 320GB/640GB drives use these new platters?
AFAIK, no.
The "This Week Only" pushed me into my 6th purchase of the 640GB WD Drive.
I love them so much.![]()
So which ones do?
Prefer WDs warranty service should anything go wrong.![]()
-Slackworth says WDs
-OCUK members (the majority) say SAMSUNG
Damn! Which to go for![]()
I think they're so close performance wise that you have to go for the company who specialise in Hard Drives.![]()
yep, that's the oneIs this the WD drive that is mentioned in this thread.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...16 640GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD6400AAKS)
If not could someone give me the full model Number so i can google.
Thanx
Will there be a single platter 320GB! version? They have some new desktop drives coming with 334GB platters in the not too distance future though I can't say much till next week.![]()
The single platter 320gb is the WD3200AAKS. Be careful though as the old 320gb is 2x160gb, and the new one is 1x320gb.Will there be a single platter 320GB! version?
It's a bit peaky but not particularly so. Is there an OS installed on it?
