Just built my new system, specs in sig below, and have run 3dmark06 to test out the system (upgraded from an amd64 3700+ and 7800GTX)...

Got a 3DMark06 score of: 14354 marks.

Thats with the CPU at stock speed (still need to learn how to overclock it properly), and GFX card overclocked from 650/1940 stock, to 740/2200...

Hows this look, bare in mind, the CPU is still at stock (2.66Ghz, will need to do more reading), as i am unsure of overclocking Intel chips on these motherboards... :eek:
 
Thanks for the replies guys, was worried as i have seen some HIGH scores on here, but like i stated before, i am unsure on how to overclock my Q9450 atm... The BIOS has so many options that it baffles me (my old amd64 motherboard was much easier)... I need to read up on it or get some help... ;)
 
im gettin 14198 with my sig! can overclock by another 300mhz if not more hehe havent benched at full overclocked speed yet, though im impressed with my scores!
 
I'm getting 16800 with my spec in my sig but that was with the q6600 running at 3.8Ghz.

3dmark06 loves quads and loves overclocked quads so once you get yours up above 3.5Ghz you'll gain another couple of 1000 points.

Good score btw for a system running at stock (with the exception of your gpu ;))

Shame my 340 GTS wasn't up to that kind of speed (it's the older core I believe).

And to the OP, it's spot on, I'm gettin 14,6nn with the sig spec (at 3.5 rather than 3.44), and can manage about 15,3nn with 3.8GHz and the card at 650/1450/1050 ish (fan rammed up full manually or it goes nuts, I think the cooling can move enough heat, but not quick enough with that much sudden load).
And I've got all-new-wonderRAM (yeah right)
 
Looks like you have the same RAM as me thegooden. Pretty pointless stuff I must say. My Maximus Extreme is a great board, but why did I bother with DDR3? who knows.

I've topped the 20K in 3DMark though, so I guess it ain't all bad!
 
while we are talking about 3D mark 06,my q6600 is Oc to 3.0 atm,but i get a max fps of 4 on 3d mark,why is it so low ?

Just haven't quite got my cpu stable enough at 4Ghz to get the top spot.

I did a run yesterday at 4.05Ghz and the GTS card running at 850/2300/2200 but it didn't quite get to the end of 3dMark06 to get a score. :(

However it was looking good as at the start I was hitting in excess of 120fps in the spaceship on the first test. :)

For stock its normal.

You will break 17k with a 800/2200 clock on the GTS and a 3.8ghz Q9450.

Make sure you have the Driver set to perfromance mode when running the bench with AA and AF off.

I always sell processors on after 6 months, so if I buy a Q9450 or even a Q9650 in December, what would I expect to see with my setup (SLi)?
