Nope, just after a fresh full format.
Did you only run it the one time? I'd expect 95MB/s~ on average but it's probably the early dips that skew up the final result.

The single platter 320gb is the WD3200AAKS. Be careful though as the old 320gb is 2x160gb, and the new one is 1x320gb.
I remember Slackworth saying a while back that the new stock were the single platter but there maybe a few of the old 2 platter left in the bottom of the box.
Ours should now be the newer version as we've had a fairly recent delivery.
So am I right in saying this (WD3200AAKS) would be a GOOD substitute as the SAMSUNG F1 320 is not available yet?
While on the subject, Is the (WD2500AAKS) also a single platter like the above? I'm assuming it is due to the same description...
Cheers

Whats up with the access times, I could've sworn that the WD 640's originally had better times? That was one of the reasons I was going to get one, but the new crop seem worse, am I correct on that?
It may look like the Sammies now!![]()
Yes, I know. What I`m asking is if there will be a single platter 320GB drive that uses the new 334GB density platter. Can`t put it simpler than that.john, there are 320gb drives already out that use a 320gb platter. wd has 1 and samsung's is coming soon ISH.
and Dougiebabe2003 you can check with this.
