Car adverts to carry cigarette style CO2 warmings

Given that most car adverts are for a range of cars, with a range of engines, how exactly is this going to work? They'll just use the traffic light for the "cleanest" of the cars
Exactly, car adverts would have to have a MASSIVE table indicating the emissions of each car. stupid.

Does anyone think this could cause the goverment to get less money us?

People are severely annoyed at the new tax bands, so people are going to want to buy lower CO2 cars, overall it'll give the goverment less...

or am I talking rubbish? :p

It's stupid.

If they are going to do it to cars then they need to do it to EVERYTHING. Everything you can buy has a carbon footprint. Even a newspaper.

Just buying some bananas from Sainsburys creates more CO2 than a car does in all its lifetime. Bananas get shipped over on massive cargo ships which burn the dirtiest of dirty shipping oil for their engines...

This is utter rubbish, as usual cars are targeted and anything else that produces CO2 is ignored.

If you follow this logic CO2 figures should also be placed on adverts for Air Travel, Package Holidays, Electricity, Rail and Bus travel, Beef, Milk, Leather and imported goods.

So, is it going to be like cigarettes, every year bigger percentage of advert dedicated to "public information" - to get from this:

Anyone else getting sick of this low carbon economy. All it boils down to is we have to pay more to receive less and you get treated like a an ass for carrying out your daily life.

theres a 40mph sign round the corner from me and someone has written on the back of it (so you see it when you're going the other way) "Stop CO²"

it always makes me smile - just thinking about the idiot that wrote it - don't even know what they're protesting it seems :D

Hope they have those eco tyres and some eco brakes.. in thier 2cv and they really will succeed :D

this is quite true...mine doesnt even have a spring...its all electrical, not a lever in sight!..it glides down at the press of a button, toasts then glides upwards..no noisy popping up for me..and it has soft blue LED's the sign of a quality toaster!

if it played the thunderbirds theme as the toast appeared slowly upwards I would just sit and eat toast all day!

it took me ages to decide to get it (when I say this I actually mean it took me ages to convince my wife that this was the toaster that would make our lives better than a 5 quid one from tescos)

Hahah! I am hungry, and did not even consider toast but... after reading that, and imagining those glowing lights and even - God willing - the Thunderbirds theme playing as they emerge from their toasty crevice... I want some toast.

Oh also I want the toaster.

On topic: How stupid, everything will have them soon. Ban bananas!
