EA has just confirmed to Strategy Informer that the PlayStation 3 version of Red Alert 3 has been put on Hold.

Jonathan Goddard, PR Manager for EA said; “We can confirm that the development of Red Alert 3 for PS3 has been put on hold. EALA is focusing resources on development for PC and Xbox 360 which will ship simultaneously this autumn.”

EA has finally confirmed the rumors. No RA3 for PS3

RA1 on ps ruled :), lots of people play RTS on consoles, that's kind of like saying no one plays FPS on consoles 'cos the mouse and kb roxxors', it's just not true ;)

Cursor movement with a pad = not fun. RA1 on PS for example I just couldn't come to terms with after playing on PC, same with things like Theme Park & Hospital on PS, horrible, and Sim City. I couldn't see why you would prefer to play an RTS on a console unless it had keyboard and mouse support, they're kinda designed for the m/kb. Suppose FPS console gaming has come a long way so maybe RTS has changed.

Yes they have, the control methods are being heavily developed, tried the demos for BFME2 and C&C3 and found them very playable actually.

played theme hospital on PC and ps: one, thought the controller was better :o, same with RA1, played it on both, PC looked slightly better but i preferred the pad for control, themepark played/completed on PS: one, again, loved, didn't have a problem with the controls, just because you prefer PC doesn't mean other people wont prefer console, you're just jealous :D

i like to have all the buttons neatly arrayed out in front of me without loads of other, non useful buttons in the way, and the analogue stick is the dogs for scrolling, still prefer FPS on PC, but i have no problem with playing them on a console either.

i guess i grew up on consoles which is why i'm largely indifferent, i remember playing quake on the lan at school (instead of doing work) and it took me a long time to be able to use the mouse as ell as the keyboard (was using pg up/dn for vertical look etc) i mean, we didn't even own a PC in the house till i was 17 (paid for by me when i got my first job) and i'd had consoles since i was about 10.

Command and Conquer 3 had a fairly good control system on the 360, its a shame they wouldnt let you use a USB mouse though, i'd of played it a lot more if I was able to use a mouse (and I normally prefer a gamepad for everything)

Red Alert was awesome though on the PS1.

The funny thing is, i think the SIXAXIS would be quite a nice addition to the controls of an RTS. Not as good as the Wiimote would be, but i still think it could be good.

lol ps3 always gets delayed

Its strange to see the 360 fangirls in a thread about a delayed ps3 game ....... sad to see the little children gloat over a canceled game .......

I also question the motives of the op ....... he seems to trawl the internet for negative ps3 news.

Do you own a ps3 bobby?

Also this game is no loss ...... RTS equals PC, no discussion.

And yeah I own a ps3 and 360, just the same irritating geeks all gathering for a circle jerk over a bit of bad ps3 news.

the joys of owning both consoles, best of both worlds, console fanboys gloating on threads like these make me laugh at their sadness, lol
