CoD4 1.6 *DOWNLOAD HERE*

Because steam initiates patches itself. TBH there was absolutely no reason to buy cod4 from steam. For starters it was £10 more and also the patch problems!
 
simple proceedure for COD4 steam users to install the patch was on various forums on release.. it works fine and is easy to apply

  • Open up the Console Code:
    Start -> Execute -> cmd​

    and type: Code:
    regedit​

    on Windows Vista the UAC will appear.
  • 3. Navigate on to if you use XP or Windows Vista 32bit:

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4​

    on Windows Vista 64bit it is:

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4​
  • 4. Rename the Key Code:
    Digital Distribution​

    to Code:
    NotDigital Distribution​
  • 5. Execute the Patchfile
  • 6. Rename the Key again back to "Digital Distribution"
  • 7. Enjoy the Multiplayer of COD4 1.6

Broadcast - Not Bad
Chinese Carentan - Not Bad (I expect this to be played a lot competitively, already played 3 scrims with it yesterday)

Overall - Dissapointed.
 
chinatown freaks me out cause of how many times ive played original map.thing is theres a few things in the way get trapped behind which is not good.

creek made for snipers dont really like it

broadcast not sure yet

killhouse is just lob a nade which i never do :p but it is class on zombies :D

thing is most were made for small amounts of people so for scrims a few of them might be good.

:D I Pride myself on my Noobtastic skillz on COD4. I am Constantly Slated as a noob by all the tag wearing clanners & get off on wiping them out.
I am a Notorious Rusher from original COD (A Proper FPS) & love rushing about COD4 spraying my P90 everywhere & lobbing nades.
BF2 is my main game & COD4 is some Casual mental rushing fun in between my BF2 battles.
I don't take it seriously at all which makes for some real Fun gaming & a nice break from the Tactical Squad based play on BF2.
 
For what it's worth, i *think* this is released on Steam today. got a large download coming down at the moment. No mention in the Steam update news but cant think what else it'd be at that size.
 
I quite like creek, Nice an relaxing hiding in the bushes picking off other snipers.

Think I'm going to what enemy at the gates while playing it :p

Really like Creek, nice to have a really good map for sniping, without it being completely overbearing.
Broadcast seems good too, decent size and lots of different areas, lots of multiple levels is good :)
Killhouse, not really a fan, its just going to be far too spammy, unless player count is very low, which it won't be on most public servers.
Chinatown, not played it properly yet, but it looks nice.
 
Talking about that Kill House I met the most sociable coolest gamer I have ever met whilst gaming.
I had gone Mental & was Nade spamming like a ***** rushing around everywhere quickly trying to learn the map, In my mind Rushing is the quickest way to learn a map & I cannot see the point in camping/sniping until you learn the choke points, Anyway the map finsihes & I pawned big style as I am a bit handy when it comes to lobbing nades :D
So round ends & this European dude shouts my name & tells me How brilliant i am & how I killed him 5 times in a row before he even got a shot off, Then he asks for my details & compliments me again & says a nice good bye.
The cynic in me thinks he's a gayer that fancys nade spammers but either way it was nice to be complimented rather than Abused as I normally am :p

I really need to find a decent way of recording some of the Insults I get whilst gaming as they are Hilarious. Not your Normal Cheat/Haxxor/Nade Spammer insults though the Personal ones when you know you really have Messed with the Dudes head :D
 
I still haven't used an ingame chat thingy, I'll have to learn some buttons now i am playing it a bit, I do like a bit of auto chat.
I love it in BF2 when a Dude steams out & trys to kill you, You kill him & then tea bag him all the while saying "NO Can Do" :D + :p
Or when they are dead calling out for a Medic You can throw a meddy pack in there face & say "Negative" :D
I hope I Never grow up :p

i played kill house, that was a good laugh, creek was good fun for sniping, broadcast, i didn't get to know the map well enough, but it was good fun while i was on it, and i haven't played Chinatown yet, but lots of good comments. Well good maps, i don't know why everyone is moaning! Also, i don't know why everyone demanded that there be more maps anyway, i thought there was quite a lot already, so well done nvidia!
 
my CoD4 keeps crashing now that the 1.6 Patch has come in!
i'm very annoyed. the game will run perfectly with no issues and the BAM! without warning the game will crash, with some sort of error message, or so the taskbar says, but i can't actually see the error message. all i can do to get rid of it is press enter on it.
 
upped our zombies to 64 now :D:D zombies madness
new update to zombies added ranking to it now so as you progress up the ranking you unlock special things.
