So i went and got a ZT

what i saw in the ebay link was a rover 75, a grey one?

Well it is a rover 75 albeit with a bodykit and I would imagine tweaks to make it handle better (I don't actually know what differences there are between the 75 and the ZT )

The 75 as a base though is a good car (its a shame rover didn't capatilise on this success) so a ZT with more power can only be a good thing especially at that price!

Yup i guess it is a 75 with different Suspension set up and interior and chassis tweeks with a modified engine all the changes i like :) . Much like the old school metro, Maestro and Montego MG's

It doesn't actually feel anything like a 75 because of various changes etc but whats wrong with a 75 for the money? :p

Pick of the rover bunch by a million miles surely?

Rover 75's on 00 plate (before tax laws blah blah) on the v6 variants are pretty great value too for often <£1500 now on even slightly more than "average miles". I'd always favour the mg zt's styling but everyone likes different things etc!

Utterly gorgeous looking car, mate had a ZT-T. I have a real soft spot for these and cannot believe how cheap they can be had for. Only thing missing appears to be sat nav.

Never seen those seats referred to as rare though. :p

what are the spares like for rovers these days? wasnt there a big ruckus because no one was making them any more?

You can get pretty much any of them, the hardest and most expensive parts are the body shell bits, because they aren't made at all :(.

By that logic too 107, C1 and Aygo are all Peugeot's

They are all the same car yes.

AS are 306's and ZX's (although the zx had passive rear wheel steer on which i dont believe the 306 did)

As are the Peugeot Boxer and Vauxhall movano.

The ZT and MG 75 are even less different than this though, they are exactly the same car but with a body kit and slightly different suspension.
Thats it, even looking at the most blatant cardigan wearing rover fan boy sites wont say any different.

not bad. i always liked the ZT. but i was worried about the parts and thus the service cost being higher, eating away at any savings made by buying the thing.
