VistaGlazz has destroyed my aero! help please

I installed VistaGlazz and did the patch thing, but it has just stopped the aero theme from working all together now I can only use the Windows Classic theme.

I've tried unistalled VistaGlazz and I've tryed restoring the system but no luck.

What else can I do?

I think this happened before and somebody linked me to a patch or something which fixed it or a windows file or something.

These should be the files you need.

C:\windows\system32\ThemeUI.dll
C:\windows\system32\UxTheme.dll
C:\windows\system32\Shsvcs.dll
C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles

Ok as it happens it appears I did actually already have that file in system32.

Where do I go from here?

Well, VistaGlazz overwrites these files. So, assuming you didn't make backups of them, then you'll require new ones, which haven't been 'patched'.

Warning for vista x64 ONLY:

cheers, so I just need to delete the old files then copy and paste the new ones into the relevent folder?

also they appear to be .7z files, shouldn't they be .dll files?

.7z is a 7zip file, muchlike .zip .rar .tar.gz etc etc.

You need 7zip to extract them

and do I have to just swap them out with the existing files in system32? Because I don't wanna go mucking about with system files, unless I know what I'm doing.

Yup just overwite your old ones. Back them up first if you like.

when you say overwrite do you just mean delete the existing ones, then copy and paste the new ones into the folder?

Will my PC need to be rebooted afterwards for the changes to take affect?

Just drag the ones into system32, and overwrite the existing ones. Backup the originals just in case.
You shouldn't have to reboot, but I'm not sure.

Vista Glazz doesnt work for me at all....SP1 32bit!
