Aygo Crazy 200BHP

Considering you could buy dozens of cars for less at that price that will do 0-60 in sub 7, i can only conclude that you would have to be a mental to buy that.

Anyone else noticed the abismal 127mph top speed! Bit low for an extremely small car with 200bhp, mind you it probably wouldn't feel very safe at anything more than 100!

It can't be set up for acceleration over top speed either as the 0-60 is c'est terrible!

I think it looks great but agree about the figures, it's 200bhp in a small car - it's going to do 0-60 quicker than 7.5 seconds!

Really short box requiring 3rd for 60 maybe?

Be interesting to see some other figures.

Wouldn't mind a(y)go myself :D

But 35-grand...

Are Toyota producing the engine in it? I would have thought they would have used their existing VVTL-i engine?

Something about those figures just don't add up...

Had a quick dig around and there's very little information out there at the moment no-one seems too sure whether this is a concept/show car, potential production car or a personally owned project.

I'm interested to know where Cheets' got his source from, as I also had a snout around and couldn't find anything. Infact, the first google hit is us.

I think that was in yesterday's News of the World (which was lying in the train of course). Stats seem correct, as I remember thinking "that's not that amazing". Maybe Toyota gave the stats wrong?

what surprises me is, that the 0-60 may well be accurate (FWD, light weight), but the top end being so low must mean its geared low, which is counter to the 0-60. That said, i'd imagine once going its bloody rapid, and would handle brilliantly.

Wish they'd made a 4WD version :D

haha Crazy yea you would be to spend £35k on something that takes that long to get to 60 :/ still bet its good fun, be good to know its actual figures.

200bhp in a tiny hatchback with those stats...the entire chassis and body must be made of cast iron with any cavities filled with lead.

my mates 210bhp polo gti 1.8T does <6s 0-60 and it's 1164kg

and it should be half that price if they want any to sell

Thats about as likely as one of auto express's exclusives. Looks more like a one off pimp my ride style aygo and a big pinch of salt. Its probably running a standard aygo engine, but with uprated elements ro acheive a 7.5 0-60 and 127 top speed.

If Toyota themselves were to make an uprated Aygo, surely it would use an engine from one of their existing cars. The celicaVVT 190 lump perhaps.

Plus I'd imagine the first publicly available shots wouldn't be from a window looking into the company carpark in the UK.

Looks like someone snapped a rich chav on his camera phone and made up a backstory to go with the pic. Trouble is, they don't know much about cars.
