Never seen a girl with an iPhone.

Ah the iPhone is a tough critter, I don't have any covers and it still looks good. Very suprised at how durable it is. My K800i was falling apart by now.
My sister has one!

It's been dropped down a flight of concrete steps and came out with a single dent. She throws it in her handbag all the time and it's barely scratched at all.

Mine went flying across a road the other day when someone walked into me while i was looking at a map - it flew a couple of metres and landed face down. Result? A bit of a scratch on the chrome, nothing wrong with the glass. They really are tough bits of kit!

I've seen 2 girls with iphones, one was 6 months ago in Maccy D's, it could be a touch thou.....the other one was last week. Apart from that i think since launch I've seen about 3 other people having one. It is a seriously rare phone indeed, i've seen more N95 and Blackberry than Iphone out and about.

I think it's a good idea, or your dog, cat, granny, children and your childrens children are going to have an iPhone.

As said before, don't want it turning out like the 3310.
What difference does it make how many other people have it? You know, statements like that don't leave you with much technical credibility. I buy a phone based on what I need it to do, I don't have a panic attack at the thought that I might bump into some other people carrying the same phone.

It's a phone not a fashion accessory. Ugh.

You could certainly tell when the price drop happened though. On my train into Waterloo, I was stood there and the three people standing around me ALL had iPhones.

I told a lie, my sister's bf has one too, but only after he saw mine.

Apart from that, i really don't see many around here.

Indeed, they are rare, and I think they are about to get rarer! :p

Just my thought.

Don't let it upset you please.

yeah but its a device that excites you. It prob boils down to bein the kid on the block with they new toy but I can compliment something where it deserves it.

I have said this in another thread before. But 9 times out of 10 if I want to see an iphone in my town, I have to pull mine out of my pocket because not many people have it (surely down to carrier restrictions) but you can't blame people for enjoying having the device.

I tell you what I remember that 3310 thing and I was sick of seeing it to the point I thought it was ugly. I can totally justify Justins point.

and I am sad enough to buy a phone that is more a fashion accessory than a practical device. I'm just lucky it ticks both them boxes for me.

PAYG tariff? It doesn't have a tariff.

EDIT: right, yea but I dont think that anyone will actually use the PAYG, they will just unlock it and shove another SIM in there so the PAYG 'tariff' is irrelevant.

Assuming it's unlockable any time soon.

I'd imagine the PAYG version will be SIM locked as well as network locked, and I'd be surprised if there wasn't a new baseband and bootloader to contend with.

I'd like to join the club that thinks it will cost next to nothing and be immediately unlockable, but I just can't see it myself.

I actually know more people with iPhones than I do with any other specific phone.. and I see them all the time out and about (or at least people pretending to talk into their iPod Touch ;))

I don't think it will be cheap, but I do think it will be unlockable.

I saw a girl doing this on the bus last year. She was near the door too so as I got off the bus I was like "Nice phone l u v" with a big grin :D

question about o2 contracts:
iam currently on payasyougo, if i was to upgrade from that will they knock off any money from the contract cost?
eg when i was using orange i could get a £35contract down to £21.50

I carry both the itouch and iphone with me most of the time, raises a few eyebrows when they see me put the itouch in my bag (after i watched something on the train) and then out comes an iphone from my pocket. :p
