I'm not voting on the poll as I'm not quite sure where my view comes on the scale, ethically I'd say people should be allowed to do whatever they want to their own bodies provided they aren't directly harming other people with their actions.
On a personal level I'm not hugely in favour of bionics/robotics where it isn't to replace functionality that existed before (e.g. after a car crash to improve quality of life), I think quite a bit of scarification and body modding implants look ugly but it very much depends on the person - some people make it look good and others don't. Self amputation makes me feel a bit uneasy but that has a lot to do with the unsafe conditions that some attempt it in - the problem is that to be safer it would have to be done by a qualified doctor which brings in ethical considerations.
