Presenting the $499 Denon link cable

Looks like a 1.5m cat 5 patch cable, because thats what it is.

For that sort of price i would expect the cable to be surrounded by an inch of lead shielding to block any interference caused by a nearby nuclear explosion.

Some of these are just brilliant:

- "Acknowledged to sound superior than SPDIF, Firewire and HDMI"
- "Signal direction marker for best quality"
- "High grade cloth mesh jacket (blue/black)"

Isn't there some hi fi speaker cables for around £10,000 and James Randi has put a lot of money up for people to prove they're any better than cheap cables?

I went to a pensioners house today to install her new DVD player to the TV.
The nice men in Comet sold her a SCART cable for £60.
I put my £2 lead in to show her there was no difference.

Update

James Randi has offered 1 million dollars for anybody who can prove that expensive cables are better than cheap cables.
