One week before going the Nurburgring and Im cleaning my car when the blimin' Motegi badge falls off on me :(

Anyone know the glue used for sticking badges onto body work? I did toy with the idea of just debadging it, but the remainder of the glue they used it stick on remains stuck on fast.

Thanks

Okay, after reading some posts on the net I used a hair dryer on the remaining glue, to find the glue has stuck so well its taking little chips of paint off too, so looks like the motegi badge has got to go back on.

Personally, I would try silicone sealant, but I am a cowboy :D

I think they use tigerseal for attaching body kits, so that would be my first line of enquiry.

Clear silicone would be fine if the badge was on a flat surface so it can just rest on top. If its on the side of the car or any steep incline then the silicone would probably let the badge slip out of place.

Best bet would be numberplate sticky pads, stick to the back and use a sharp knife to cut the backing to the shape of the badge.

As for getting the old glue off heat will soften it but i doubt it will actually remove it. I'd try some tar removal solvent or a strong alcohol.
